Wilder would likely come in favourite, but the longer it goes the more Ruiz's power could become an important factor in the outcome.
This fight would draw a lot of attention especially if it were promoted correctly.

It'd be a big win for either one of 'em for sure. Wilder could use a few more noteworthy wins on his record. Even though Ruiz is not necessarily the biggest name, he's a former Heavyweight Champion, and would be arguably the biggest win on Wilder's record.

If Ruiz beat Wilder it'd obviously be his biggest win other than AJ, and I'd say it's just as big as AJ if not for the fact that no title would be on the line.

Wilder can barely make 220, Ruiz could have 30 pounds on him.
Last time out Ruiz looked like sht boxing wise, relied on skirmishes and rallies.
I don't know, like the fight though.

It has potential. It could also be one sided. Just depends.

So here's a curveball. He may just be trying to squeeze more out of PBC but maybe things are being shaken up with the changes to Showtime. Either way, if Wilder looks elsewhere, maybe Ngannou, Whyte or Joshua, then we could see Ruiz against Hrgovic for the Interim IBF title or should he choose to go for the WBC mandatory then his opponents would be, in this order, Sanchez/Makhmudov/Joshua/Whyte.

An interesting turn of events could create some other interesting matchups but I think I'd still rather see Ruiz against Wilder, though I don't want to see Wilder fight Fury or for the WBC belt anytime again soon.

I honestly, thought they would stop protecting the Wilder brand once the Fury trilogy was over. When we were eventually allowed to see Ruiz Jr. v Ortiz, I thought it was a sign that things had finally changed. But it seems like Wilder has other ideas.

Enough is enough, this fight needs to be made.

Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr. WBC mandatory back in the works

Deontay Wilder facing Andy Ruiz Jr. in a WBC heavyweight title eliminator, is back in the works following months of doubt over the contest.

Despite the WBC ordering the fight after Wilder stopped Robert Helenius in his WBC mandatory semi-final, “The Bronze Bomber” failed to follow through.

Instead, Wilder opted to keep his options open, even as Ruiz played his part in securing a spot in the final by defeating Luis Ortiz.

The World Boxing Council set up the four-strong tournament in the middle of 2022. The end goal was to sanction a mandatory from Wilder, Ruiz, Helenius, and Ortiz.

WBC officials confirmed the plan before Fury put his belt on the line in the UK last year.

I can understand Wilder expecting the split to be in his favour but 70/30 is probably a bit much and I can understand Ruiz wanting more.

60/40 in Wilder's favour would probably be about right IMO. But this has dragged on for way too long and for too many times, and it is time they got the fight made or just forget about it.

in most cases it is almost imperative to ask for more than you are offered. You are a mug if you don't.

What is annoying in this case is, they have been talking about this fight on and off for 7 months and they are still poles apart on the negotiations. Do they want a payday or not?

Ruiz barely got by a guy about 10 yrs past his prime, Ortiz, with the help of the ref. Regardless, if Ruiz is close to even with Ortiz at this point, he sucks for being prime age.

Ruiz Jr. is really good at walking guys down. Wilder will have issues with this fight. I give him a puncher's chance as always, though.
