DAZN more than doubles monthly cost for monthly subscribers to £19.99

I'd probably pay the £100 a year if they actually had fights worth watching instead of trash like AJ v Franklin and the worthless nonsense that is women's boxing/influencers or Misfits (whatever that is).
Plus when they do put on a decent fight it'll go on PPV so you'll get stung again. Enough is enough, i have a library of classic boxing on YouTube or other avenues so i can watch the greatest fighters in history without being ripped off to watch fights that previously would have barely made an undercard being billed as main events.

Either invest blind for 100-160quid a year to watch matchroom in the uk.
or pay approximately 240-300 quid a year on dazn boxing to pay as you go.
I just can’t see how he survives this unless it’s one ripper schedul.

Said it many times before, the main problem with dazn is that there is zero worth watching outside the live events.
If there was a decent magazine show every week I'd be more tempted go for it. As it is you look at the threadbare schedule and think it's not worth it.

Yeah I agree with this, I never watched it unless there was a big fight. Never watched other sports or the reruns of old fights as most are on YouTube anyway.veriton wrote: ↑08 Feb 2023, 02:13 Said it many times before, the main problem with dazn is that there is zero worth watching outside the live events.

I’m not sure. Will depend on how their other sports are performing but I’d imagine they’d still be good unless DAZN are drastically reducing their spend in the U.K.coneye wrote: ↑07 Feb 2023, 19:59Will they still stay record now he's moved from sky , he was doing very well until his ambition to take over the world kicked in , realisticly who has he got now with a bright futuremaverick23 wrote: ↑07 Feb 2023, 02:53They’ve had record profits since Eddie has been dealing with the boxing.

Matchroom’s issue will be their roster in a year or two as DAZN won’t create stars as it’s not widely adopted so people will look to Sky and BT as better alternatives.

Virtually no-one will pay annually though, with good reason. They’ve already proven they lied about having no PPV, so why would anyone ever sign up for a full year and trust they won’t just do it again?
So for most people who want to pick and choose their months (quite rightly, considering there have been months with absolutely zero new content), the price has doubled.
I got up at 6am on Sunday and watched near 4 hours of the Serrano/Cruz show. I’ll be watching the Wood/Lara fight live on it next weekend too and probably each of the shows they announced yesterday.
I don’t know how many hours of DAZN I watched last year but if I did then it’d work out pretty cheaply on a cost per hour of viewing which is the only fair way to assess some of the apps that just offer watchable content.
So if you stay true to that, there is usually one fight, sometimes two per DAZN show that are watchable, its an hour of entertainment per 4-5 hour event, per month, as a best case scenario. Then you have events where the whole thing is a predicable snoozer, and a month without any content at all, and a month with a PPV on top of your subscription.
Doesn’t seem that good value.
And as other's have said, paying a year up front involves trusting a company that has lied repeatedly.

What happens when they get more sports on DAZN?
They gonna increase it more? Maybe not.
But they’re gonna expect more people to sub at the current price.

Dazn are just another business needing or choosing to rejig the income / cashflow , but bcos its eddie people get shirty .
I can remember Sky giving away sat boxes dishes and free sports back in the 80s until they had enough people hooked and then overnight it went to a paid model .
They arent in business for any other reason than making money and lots of it .
Dazn still seems cheaper to me than Sky depending on your exact deal .
The complete Sky Sports pack is included at a knock down rate of just £20 per month – next best offer price (£25) / out-of-contract price (£33). BT Sport is now available direct from Sky and is included in this deal. BT Sport costs just £25 per month – next best offer price (£28).Jan 30, 2023

I say ‘just watchable content’ to differentiate it from say Amazon Prime where you get far more in addition to the watchable stuff.KiwiRider wrote: ↑08 Feb 2023, 04:30Watchable content?maverick23 wrote: ↑07 Feb 2023, 06:20Yeah - that’s kind of how i’m looking at it.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑07 Feb 2023, 05:59

Perhaps call me a glutton for punishment but I watched all 4 fights on DAZN on Saturday from start to finish and fast forward through a chunk of the stuff between the fights.
I’ll watch the Lara/Wood card from start to finish live.
Like I’ve said before, I paid £96 for DAZN in 2022 and got value for money from it in my opinion with something like 45 shows.
I’m relaxed about paying £100 for another 12 months and I’m expecting the number of shows to stay similar and the quality not to reduce. If the number of shows reduce, the quality gets worse or they start throwing in loads of PPVs then I’d reassess and probably not continue the following year.
Re: lying in the past, I’m of the opinion that plans change in business. My company’s strategy today is very different to that of 2019 and if you analysed our objectives then it would be very different to now given how much has changed in the world.

The £100 up front is okay, if I did go back it would be with that option.

I just got my email there about the price hike, I'm happy to do the £9.99 a month for the 12 month contract but have no idea how to do it, the links provided are useless, can't see anything about changing contract

They announced yesterday a global (bar USA) deal on the NFL to show every NFL game. No idea if it will automatically be included within DAZN’s normal package though as the actual detail relating to the announcement was non-existent.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑08 Feb 2023, 05:03 What happens when they get more sports on DAZN?

It’s almost certainly an extra cost, as they’ve stated it “will be available as a standalone subscription or add-on package within DAZN’s app”. Absolutely no way will it be included in the standard sub, given the language used.maverick23 wrote: ↑08 Feb 2023, 07:49They announced yesterday a global (bar USA) deal on the NFL to show every NFL game. This is just them adding the NFL Gamepass package to the DAZN platform. Similar to Netflix being available within Sky for example.maverick23 wrote: ↑08 Feb 2023, 07:49They announced yesterday a global (bar USA) deal on the NFL to show every NFL game. It's either a standalone subscription or alternatively you can purchase it as an add on. It was around £150 a year for the season that's just about to complete.

So you can get access to all the NFL games through the existing app or, for potentially the same price, you can go on another app, DAZN, to get through to GamePass in DAZN, for the same price.garethhop wrote: ↑08 Feb 2023, 09:47This is just them adding the NFL Gamepass package to the DAZN platform. Sounds like the over-complication of something that was straightforward as it’s just a more long winded way to do it. I get it on Sky having quick access to Netflix but this doesn’t make much sense to me.

DAZN messaged me back saying I have to cancel my existing contract to begin the new one, bit of a pain in the arse but fair enough, from what I gather the contract will automatically stop when the price goes up, would it b best to wait until it runs out before starting new one, what's everyone else doing who are keeping it??

And ITV who were pimping the super bowl on the football last night, it will be like the AEW wrestling deal , you get it on DAZN Latvia and so on, not on in major market

Yeh. BBC along with Sky always show the SuperBowl.
I doubt NFL will be available in the UK DAZN.
Sky have a bloody dedicated NFL channel too.
