Shaw's a decent win, and he beat Demirezen pretty handily.

Precisely. Although I have to say Ajagba being 15th best HW, with others above him like Wallin and Pulev, is a bit of a damning indictment of the current state of the division, considering he got beat comprehensively by Sanchez, who has fought absolutely no one else.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑09 Feb 2023, 09:49Who has aged well.

Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Vacant #15
I'll be honest everything passed the top 10 is such a disappointment that you could literally put all of these people's names in a hat and pull one out and it wouldn't really matter where they were ranked.
#11-#15 literally is so weak I could easily see an old trial horse like Chisora actually beating them. I guess because he's in the only fight that matters, Zhang should be #15.

Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Vacant #15
First one to reach 10 votes?
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Vacant #15
Jared Anderson's best wins within #150 according to the Boxrec rankings:
#45 Jerry Forrest
#92 Johnnie Langston
#124 Kingsley Ibeh
No longer ranked: Oleksandr Teslenko, Vladimir Tereshkin and Jeremiah Karpency. I believe all three were ranked outside the top 100.
Efe Ajagba's record Vs the top #150 on Boxrec:
#13 Frank Sanchez LOSS
#20 Ali Eren Demirezen
#22 Stephen Shaw
#34 Jonathan Rice
No longer ranked: Brian Howard, Iago Kiladze and Amir Mansour. I believe they were ranked between 50-150.
I know the rankings are flawed but you can use them as a rough marker. In this instance it looks clear.

As they are also gaining votes...
Arslanbek Makhmudov's wins vs the Boxrec top #150:
#34 Jonathan Rice
#41 Carlos Takam
#80 Mariusz Wach
No longer ranked: Samuel Peter, Dillon Carman, Erkan Teper. I believe they were ranked outside the top 100.
Daniel Dubois's record vs the Boxrec top #150:
#5 Joe Joyce LOSS
#31 Trevor Bryan
#36 Kevin Lerena (Bridger/Cruiserweight)
#89 Nathan Gorman
#90 Joe Cusumano
#108 Kevin Johnson
Zhilei Zhang's official record Vs the Boxrec top #150, however, I know that most of his votes will be because of his disputed loss to Hrgovic:
#19 Filip Hrgovic LOSS
#45 Jerry Forrest DRAW
#104 Curtis Harper
#133 Devin Vargas
#149 Andrii Rudenko

Yep current rankings. Couldn't be bothered to try and work out their previous rankings at the time of the fight but none of the relevant ones are too old really so it's probably a more accurate reflection of their level.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑10 Feb 2023, 08:31Those are the boxers current rankings aren't they?

ya, i go efe for now. jah looks to have better potential and we can always vote him upon his next win if it's good enough
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Vacant #15
Yea, not averse to that at all. If Rice is Anderson's next opponent (as is rumoured) I'd probably be reluctant to give him too much credit for that though, seeing as they are sparring partners.

Yeh forget the eye test. Efe might just lose to Anderson in the ring, but he has been getting the job done when he’s in there.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑10 Feb 2023, 20:16 ya, i go efe for now. jah looks to have better potential and we can always vote him upon his next win if it's good enough
They both have the same promoter don’t they?
Anderson can always be voted up after he beats some more credible opponents.

Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Vacant #15
Can't see any of these making too much of a difference, if at all. Gassiev on talent could of course be up there; but would need to see it against better opposition.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 Feb 2023, 06:02 New fight added
