Josh Taylor was undisputed at 140 before he dropped the belts, Leigh Wood and Warrington hold chips at featherweight, Conor Benn is star in the making, Okolie has chips at Cruiser and three are 4 or 5 light heavyweights who can't beat Beterbiev but would trouble anybody else. Katie Taylor also gets bums on seats. It's far from dead in British boxing.peter barlow wrote: ↑01 Oct 2022, 10:42 Well let's be honest British boxing is in the toilet outside Joshua and Fury who are nearing the end of their careers.
I'm not surprised they are begging Kell Brook to come back. Look at the state of the shows and headliners being put on.

The difference is that none of those are PPV stars which is ultimately what TV networks and promoters want to build.thenamesnevers wrote: ↑03 Oct 2022, 07:46Josh Taylor was undisputed at 140 before he dropped the belts, Leigh Wood and Warrington hold chips at featherweight, Conor Benn is star in the making, Okolie has chips at Cruiser and three are 4 or 5 light heavyweights who can't beat Beterbiev but would trouble anybody else. I always think boxing is cyclical. It’s not a bad time at the moment but it’s not a boom either.

How many huge PPV stars are in boxing full stop though? Parker vs Joyce have just done a PPV over here and Dillian Whyte' last 4 have been ppv.

Brook To Keep Eye On Eubank-Benn If It Proceeds: "I Believe I'd Beat Both"
“I believe that I’d beat both of those guys,” said Brook during an interview with Safe Betting Sites.
“It’s a good fight but I don’t like Eubank at all. I do like Benn, he’s a nice guy. I got a lot of respect for Benn. But I think I’m leaning toward Eubank in that fight. He’s the bigger guy, he has more experience.”

Might as well start a GoFundMe.. there'll be plenty... but then you'd rather pay to watch him get his head smashed in.coneye wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022, 05:21Think theres a lot who won't mind chipping in a quick 25 --30 quid to help him out

Conor Benn a star in the making, not sure the headlines this week saying that. Josh Taylor needed a robbery to beat Jack Catterall. Warrington is on the way out, he will likely lose to Lopez, he had to deliberately clash heads to get away from Lara.thenamesnevers wrote: ↑03 Oct 2022, 07:46Josh Taylor was undisputed at 140 before he dropped the belts, Leigh Wood and Warrington hold chips at featherweight, Conor Benn is star in the making, Okolie has chips at Cruiser and three are 4 or 5 light heavyweights who can't beat Beterbiev but would trouble anybody else. Leigh Wood, Okolie, Katie Taylor??? Come on you surely aren't serious. None of these are the big names that bring in PPV money.

How many genuine PPV stars does America have to offer? Considering the size of the country, I'm hoping you can name at least ten...peter barlow wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022, 05:54Conor Benn a star in the making, not sure the headlines this week saying that. When did Keith lard take up the boxing training?Pugilist-specialist wrote: ↑01 Oct 2022, 08:56An "open secret"Wee Tommy wrote: ↑01 Oct 2022, 06:19 It’s an open secret that Kell likes to get completely off his tits and will shag anything, man or woman that he can get his hands on.
However that’s his life and he’s entitled to do what makes him happy.
Coneyes post makes sense in that he’s gonna lose a chunk of his bankroll in the divorce. Getting a new bird whose obviously very determined and training hard could also be motivation to get in the gym again. However I’d suggest he takes easier fights than some of the matches he had towards the end of his career. Don’t want to see the man hurt as he’s clearly past his best.![]()
It's a subject that really seems to turn on a couple of posters on a boxing forum but is as credible as the stories claiming a well-known trainer interferes with dogs.
You try and get an Alsatian to testify!

Kell Brook 'Wants One More Fight', Says Boxxer Head Ben Shalom
“I know Kell Brook wants to fight again,” the Boxxer chief said in an interview with iD Boxing. “He doesn’t want that [the video] to be his lasting memory and I’ve spoken already on that.
“But he always wanted one more fight. It has to be the right fight.”
“I think, to be honest, 154 [pounds], for Kell, is probably the right weight for him,” Shalom added, “and Liam Smith obviously has fought there all his career, so that’s definitely a possibility.”

Kell Brook was an utter fraud of a fighter, let's be honest. In 43 fights, 40 victories, he had ONE good win over Shawn Porter.
The rest of the time he fought bums and clowns like Donut Dan Iron and Frankie Gavin, and lost the other times he stepped up. His record is utterly appalling.

A top 10 Welterweight who had an exciting style most of the time, won ugly against Porter, and had a great fight with Spence.
He was done after that but a fraud....nah.
Also a really nice bloke the two times I met him ringside. And a proper boxing fan.

Another way to look at his record is that he only lost to nailed on Hall of Famerstigermoth87 wrote: ↑15 Feb 2023, 16:23 Kell Brook was an utter fraud of a fighter, let's be honest. In 43 fights, 40 victories, he had ONE good win over Shawn Porter.

Re: Kell Brook might be returning
really good fighter, very nice title win and finally the grudge win over khan
his big resume weakness is obviously the lack of notable wins aside from porter. there was porter, then a massive drop. he could have built a much deeper resume with lots of good wins. basically, it was usually either far too easy or too much for him, not a lot of in between and you cant rate him as high as his talent may have allowed him to go

Time for Kell vs connor, 160lb, world strickest drug testing... get a lil pay day into ya.
Re: Kell Brook might be returning
If he had fought Spence or Crawford before the Golovkin fight came along I really think he could have taken at least one of them and had quite a different career. I hope he doesn't need the money that bad.
