The Kid would be a great shout.
Big step up in quality, but he'd be years and 3 weight divs past his best and likely shot to boot. Good win on Cully's record and a last payday for Barry.
And you never know...
kid made his career at 126 and lost his only fight at 135. he's not a popular fighter or someone with name prestige, especially now at 135.

ppl would immediately laugh at the ridiculous height difference and it would be tough to take seriously
I think he has pretty solid name recognition. and he went close with maxi who isnt top class but is solid. The height difference would be a weird watch and probably not do it any favors.

kid was a 126, but struggled with the weight cut. so yea its moving up 2 weights from most of his fights, but probably only moving up 1 weight from where he should of been the last couple of years...

It would be Garrys best win regardless.
miguel vasquez was a far better lightweight than kid's ever shown. for one, he's not a 5'5 featherweight

Id say going close with maxi is showing just as much as 2022 version of miguell. but ill admit its not based on much.

Im all for a better step up, would love to see it., but ill be suprised if the person garry fights next will be better than Kid and id be happy to see Garry vs kid in may, ridiculous height difference and all.

Lomachenko and tank are both 5'6 featherweights... pretty decent lightweights though. (not saying kid is near that levle to be clear).

loma and davis have good results at lightweight, barry just lost his only notable fight there. it would be a ridiculous looking matchup vs a tiny guy coming off a loss who was never popular to start with, i think there are far better steps up for cully

Surely Ed is regretting putting this as co main. nearly fell asleep for the first 4 rounds and its hardly making me think dalton smith is going anywhere.

His last defence was about this ""
Heck knows why he is fighting the boxrec #21 in England for the title.

Yeah kinda stagnating.
It used to be a good thing, that he was patient and not in a rush, but it's making him a bit boring and I didn't think that would ever be the case with him. Needs to move up a gear and "put it on him"

Garry Cully vs dalton smith for the 140lb British would be a decent scrap to be fair.

allington has 0 stoppages in 15 fights, smith needs to stop showing him so much respect

if he ups his work rate billy will fight back and give him more chances to land the counters he's waiting on

Fair play to this kid. He is going for home run KOs while hurt when he has zero KOs or KDs
