Allington probably should of stayed down (its nice he didnt). cant see him having many dollars left in boxing, win the british by DQ then sell it to the highest bidder would of been the smart move... instead he gets punched in the head a few more times and earns a bit of "respect".... hard to pay rent with "respect though"....

Refs are fornicating spineless, how do you not take a point for that? like seriously if you always get a warning why not just kick your opponent in the nuts first round.... then dont do it again.

Not really Smith's fault tbf.
It's hard to fight a tough, spoiling moving that isn't trying to win. Power still ok. Maybe lacks a high top gear when he gets to World Class tho'.

judging by matchrooms insta posts, leigh wood was gloved up and hitting pads over an hour ago.... (was probably betting on smith geting a round 2 KO...). might be gassed or taking a nap by the time this fight starts hahah.

He cannot cut off the ring. He cannot pin this patsy down.
He ran out of ideas after the first round.

dalt has sharp counters and seems a strong guy, but he needs to become more comfortable taking the lead offensively , spent too much time waiting around to counter when he should've been hammering more shots home vs a guy with 0 stoppages. looked a bit one paced as well.

120-107 Smith but that was pure meh, Allington pretty quick and good defensively tbf, had good footwork and was tough but offered next to nothing offensively and Smith just didn't deal with him the way his status should've, he never used the jab enough, walked forward constantly but waited too long to get his shots off, did land all the quality and show he was a level above but it was another pedestrian performance, he dropped Allington with 3 left hooks in the 8th, the second one did the real damage but he didn't press hard enough for the stoppage, he caught Allington a few more times after which had him holding or running but it was quite predictable, he does throw a mean uppercut, Smith is good but it looks more a case of won't rather than can't

vs a guy with 0 stoppages who is not throwing much to counter, who you are a stronger sharper puncher than, there's no excuse for not pushing things offensively yourself and taking it to him. work the jab and set up some power shots to the head and body off that.

smith kinda boxed like a robot who had a plan coming in and was only allowed to box that way, not being allowed to adjust

and fair play to allington, was game as hell and didnt try to get the dq when smith slammed him. at a lower level he can prob outbox some decent opponents.

Smith vs maxwell late april is a decent fight, but its surely rushing that cut a bit or cutting out a lot of sparring. dont know why you would take an interim fight like this only a couple months after you were cut if you have a decent fight booked in 2 months time....

Im not really fussed on it happening april or not, just seems a silly spot to put yourself in for an absolutly nothing fight.

Dalton’s local to me & I hoped he would be the next star to come from these parts but I just can’t see it.

The early hype & excitement has gone & he just seems to give underwhelming performances & make excuses in every post fight interview.

He should’ve been disqualified for low blows in Leeds & he’s a lucky boy tonight after the slam.

I hope I’m wrong but I can’t see him making world level. I know he’s still developing but he looks a long way off Taylor, Prograis, Catterall, Lopez etc.

maxwell next is good for dalton, wins that he should push to euro level. he looked much better earlier in his career, maybe needs more of a challenge. i dont think allington was better than guys he beat in better style

He'll get close and have a good career, but I've cooled on him too.
Underwhelming twice now.

The Maxwell fight should be good tho' - Smith needs some1 coming at him to look good and Max will do that.... :bag:

leigh wood by points 8-1... had a dabble on that. I think lara probably stops him honestly, but at 8-1.... If wood dosent hit the canvas he should get the nod surely, ill take that at 8s.

You know what the WBC are like with the Mexicans, Vargas will get a couple of years to decide if he wants to vacate the Featherweight strap

wood early i'd say worth an outside shot too........he can punch a bit and lara is hittable and has been stopped in 1 before (albeit at 19).

although i think lara will win after wood has a good start
