I've seen people come back from a worse position than that to win.blanca wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 19:47Wood was fcked. He could barely stand up straight. Maybe im going soft as i get older but i would rather a fight be stopped where the loser can come back another day than let it go on for him to be starched....all just for my own entertainmentkeithmoonhangover wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 19:44Five seconds left, Lara not in the neutral corner, ref still checking on Wood.

Theyll move Lara up to Super Feather and put Wood and Warrington on for the belt.

Me too. If I was Wood I would think this guy isn't a great strategist.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 19:50I've seen people come back from a worse position than that to win.blanca wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 19:47Wood was fcked. Like trading, pretty stupid and he was doing great at range .
Up until that point it was a great effort from Wood and a few body shots really forced Lara back .

Doesn't matter. No top trainer throws in the towel there. Do you think Dundee, Stewart or Futch stop that fight there?margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 19:50sure, and most dontkeithmoonhangover wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 19:50I've seen people come back from a worse position than that to win.

ive seen a guy dropped 4 times in the same round and come back to win, doesnt mean we should use at as the standard of when to stop a fight. most fighters who are floored badly and staggering around dont win that fight
i can see it both ways tbf

I certainly don’t take issue with the stoppage. As fit as Wood is it seems hard to imagine he could have shaken off that bomb.

Bellew's wrong to compare the knockdown tonight with the Conlan one, this was a very heavy knockdown and he wasn't right when he got up

He was in pretty bad straights against Conlan and came back, maybe not quite as bad , not great corner work for me , should have made the call with him back in the corner.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 19:50sure, and most dontkeithmoonhangover wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 19:50I've seen people come back from a worse position than that to win.

tbf......it's possible he wouldnt have even made it back to the corner. if we knew for sure that he would've survived the round, i think everyone would support having a look over him. but the ref was waving them back to box with enough time for lara to throw some big shots

My point is that some people come back from that. You're saying some people don't. Same thing. Some do, some don't.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 19:54if it doesnt matter then neither does the fact that some guys have come back from worsekeithmoonhangover wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 19:52Doesn't matter. I mean maybe.. see how he is in the corner in a few seconds. Maybe then retire him in the corner.

I think Lara is one of the few real world champions now in this era of boxing.
