There’s a lot on here who would have stopped Joshua v Klitschko and Froch v Groves..if you try to forget the outcome…maybe right, maybe wrong. Who really knows…

Or get your right glove up to protect your chin and temple from a counter left hook(Wood's hook landed first), it's basic defence you should learn your first week in a boxing gym. You shouldn't get away with such sloppiness at any decent level of the sport.

Lara launched that hook from his knee. I would imagione Woods will be kicking himself when he watches it back.

Very sloppy defence work. I dont rate Davidson, he talks well but is starting to look like a busted flush.

He had 10 seconds left.. wasn’t on steady legs. Lara just behind him ready to pounce.

How many punches can Lara land in 10 seconds?

It is what it is for now. Can’t really do much about it now can we.

As fight fans and boxers, they want to go out fighting and us fans love a good dust up.

It's the first thing they should have been drilling since Laras left hook to the head is his best shot and his go-to punch. He dropped Warrington with it.

Nice job by the Britocutioner. He was behind, he took some good shots, but he stayed cool and found the opening.

I just felt that wood couldnt maintain his discipline and so in some rounds he showed some great defence and really snappy hard punches , without taking any or much back.
But then would focus and stand still too long without throwing his jab - weird as he was out boxing Lara and up by a few rounds .

Not sure he can learn enough quickly enough for the rematch but wish him well .

We'll have to agree to disagree. Wouldn't you like to see Lara give the cheating spaceraider another spanking though, surely we can agree on that?

Barely he will learn something at all. He's far from being the defensive wizard. That left hook wasn't a fluke.

Boxercise is a bluffer and a blowhard. Boxing is full of them at all levels of the sport.

He's a bluffer and a blowhard. Some boxers can be their own worst enemies when it comes to judging the characters of conmen.

wood did have his right hand up when the hook landed, but it was covering the side of his head and left his chin open. the shot landed flush on the sweet spot. lara also bent in low when he started throwing it, perhaps tricked wood into thinking he was throwing a left hook to the body and made him relax a bit up top

let's face it, unless you're an utter defensive genius, you're gonna get hit at points and have lapses. i thought wood boxed pretty much as well as he could've. i'd expect lara to catch up to him eventually again if they rematched

Wood boxed well, but Lara did catch him a few times where you know Wood felt it.

It was only a matter of time.

He didn't. You don't have to be a defensive genius to tuck your elbow in and have your glove covering your chin and temple when you're throwing a hook, especially against a known hooker. Particularly at world level, elementary defensive lapses can be the difference between victory and crushing defeat.

his right elbow was tucked in and his glove was up to his cheek. i think he was expecting a body shot and obviously his defense could've been tighter since the shot landed, but watching it back i dont think it was an egregious wtf type defensive error.

in a 12 round fight those are going to happen even to good defensive fighters, and when you commit to your own shots you'll become more hittable. problem for wood is that lara has the power to wipe him out even with 1 mistake, as we saw. even being more mindful of his defense, i have doubts that wood can go 12 rounds without lara eventually catching up to him

Nice fella is Wood.

On a side note, why are Sam Jones and Nick Peet the self-acclaimed spokesmen of boxing these days... who gives a fook what those 2 chancers think.
