Ron McIntosh radio 5

Post by nobleart1978 »

I made the mistake of having the Wood - Lara fight on the radio.

OMG !!!

What is Ron McIntosh on about: " and both boxers are in the ring at number 5 on the clock face"

wtf is this guy on about ???

We need to protect big Ron.

He’s a fvxkin gem!

I wish he did TV commentary again.

He doesn’t chat beans like most.

I’d rather not understand the commentators.

Mad as a box of frogs but you can't diss Ron. Definitely adds to the entertainment.

Did he used the word 'discombobulate'? I'd rather listen to crazy Ron than Costello, which is strange cos Costello was decent on the radio. Reckon having Eddeh's balls down his throat is a big behavioural influence.

Love Big Ron, Costello has been a real disappointment and hopefully there will be a rethink

I love big Rons commentary, and a lovely fella too.

'and he folded like a pack of cards'

'and he folded like a blackpool deckchair'

'and the left hook to the temple completely discombobulated him'

'as brave as a badger and twice as game'

'and the bell to end the round must have sounded like a complete orchestra.

 you've got to love big Ron !

I enjoyed the live commentary on Radio 5 and watching the fight in full today, they all (McIntosh, Buncey, Jones...plus a bit of input from Froch) did a really good job.

They also had a lot of time to kill before the 1st bell went and, again, they made great use of the time and each showed their knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport :TU:

I really struggle listening to big Ron. He says 10 words when 2 will do.

I’d go as far to say he’s my least favourite U.K. commentator.

I get the feeling he'd be a better boxing writer than a commentator.

He's got some great sayings don't get me wrong, but they belong in descriptions of fights in a book on say, Tom Cribb.
