How does Tyson Fury come over to you ?
The Press ... Do they treat Tyson Fury unfairly ?
Re: The Press ... Do they treat Tyson Fury unfairly ?
Back in 2015, he was treated very unfairly.
In 2018, there were a few lone voices who had it in for him, but most got behind how he was turning his life around.
Now in 2023, it's the opposite of 2015 and he even has his own fanboy radio station in TalkSport spouting any old rubbish that paints him in a positive light.
How does he come across? Different strokes for different folks I guess. He had the chance to be an ATG, but he keeps getting in his own way.

Before facing Klit he wasn't taken seriously neither by the press nor by the boxing fans. After winning Klit he got short-lived praise, which stopped due to Fury's withdrawal from the rematch and contoversial behavior.
After he came back, he was given some credit because of his weight cutting, but as a fighter he was given much less credit. His unfairly ruled draw agaist Wilder became seen as an upset win by the vast majority of the press and fans. Fury turned from villain to hero. The majority accepted him as the man, which was justified not only by defeating Wilder twice more, but also by Joshua's troubles.
With Usyk's emerge nothing would have changed, if Fury wasn't trying to cash himself out as much as possible in the upcoming undisputed championship bout. In the press he is still favored, but a lot of fans started to hate him and pick Usyk to win because of their hate, albeit more often he remains a favorite among the fans too, regardless of their attitude towards him.
I've been telling, that Fury is the best, since his win over Klit. I picked him to beat Wilder all three times and I confidently see him defeating Usyk. Fury will receive what he wants in this negotiation process, he'll prevail by all means, it's him who's Joker, not Usyk, while the Ukrainian isn't Batman, he's a Rabbitman. No Rabbitman born from his mother defeats the Gypsy Joker.

The media barely ever call him a drugs cheat so he gets that favourable touch from them. To be honest though, most decent British media doesn't focus much on boxing so it's the tabloids posting 20 contradictory stories a day about anything they can get their hands on or the more dedicated sports/boxing sites. The shit rags love him because there's a lot of stories in everything he does, not sure how supportive they are of him though. The specific sports media is generally more favourable towards him than it is critical.
Social media and the public have generally had enough of his out of the ring antics. Most casuals have started to realise that the Wilder fights were an anomaly and his fights are usually boring. They might watch because they recognise his talent but they're tired of all the rest. He still has his dedicated fanboys who see him as the great white hope and will eat up anything he does.
Tyson is definitely not treated unfairly and gets more leeway than most in the business given the circumstances I believe.

I'm a big Fury fan. Remember he was one of the heavies on the domestic scene, fighting the likes of Belshaw and Rogan. Rivalry with David Price.
Look at him now. He's the archetypal success story.
