Spat my tea out at that
Looking at the schedule this thread is likely to be the boxing highlight of at least the next two months.

He could insult you and you wouldn’t know. You’d think he’s complimenting Yu with posh words.
Re: Ron McIntosh radio 5
The clock face is hilarious and daft at the same time. Usually by the time he spouts of an essay about something that happened he misses the KO blow. Missed the Wood / Lara fight will have to listen to the repeat though.

It's not true that he said that, but I believe it is something he would say if such a situation arose so, in a way, it is true.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑20 Feb 2023, 04:25Teddy's Toupee wrote: ↑19 Feb 2023, 19:27"He's wheezing like a punctured bicycle wheel after that blistering body shot hit him smack in the solar plexus"

I will often watch the Price v Christian Hammer fight just for Ron's commentary. Re: Ron McIntosh radio 5
i think he's great. and Bunce only between rounds. or 'frames' as Ron was saying at the weekend.
he did take a bit of time to say Wood was down at the end there, preferring to (and taking ages to) describe the punch rather than what it had done. my only real complaint.

Re: Ron McIntosh radio 5
he calls a round " a stanza" sometimes.
he's more than likely a great bloke, but that clock face thing just gets me shaking my head.
when i started this post i didn't expect this much reaction tbh. his appendage is probably like omar's of television x back in the noughties.

Counter clockwise! That's it! Make the adjustment to 5 on the clock face! Now 6 on the clock face! I'm exhaling like a set of bellows!! 5 on the clock face! I'm squealing like the proverbial pig!! My word!!jonnyyorkshu wrote: ↑20 Feb 2023, 08:00"My wrought iron hard, tubular appendage needs to be highly moistened to enter that needle eyed crevice "Teddy's Toupee wrote: ↑20 Feb 2023, 07:45"My now engorged penis points proudly towards ten on the clock face as I attain full tumescence"

I don’t dislike Big Ron’s commentary per se, but I don’t think he can read a fight particularly well, seems to get easily swayed by the crowd or whenever the home fighter has a bit of success. Not that he’s alone in that regard, of course, most of our commentators and pundits are exactly the same.

You have to imagine Ron is stood naked sideways on in front of you with his engorged penis positioned to your left. That's what I did.stujones wrote: ↑20 Feb 2023, 09:45Be a very weird clockface position if she was on topTeddy's Toupee wrote: ↑20 Feb 2023, 07:45"My now engorged penis points proudly towards ten on the clock face as I attain full tumescence"![]()

I saw him once in the Wembley Lidl before an England game. Big lad.
He's got a lovely way with words, fair play to him.

The guy is a legend.
Re: Ron McIntosh radio 5
Perhaps, as he loaded his basket like he was squirrelling away bargain fayre in a Charles Dickens tome.

Agreed golden_balls
The Ronster didn't convey to the listener quick enough that Wood had been flattened !
That said, it was Mike Costello's worst failing as radio commentator....the fight could have finished and Costello often failed to get that fact across to the frustrated listener.
