Carl Froch calling out Paul?
For once I'd pay to watch this.
Froch I reckon is probably in very good nick, and if he had some decent sparring would batter the life out of him. I doubt any of Paul's punches would trouble Carl.

Froch is 45 and been retired for 9 years. We hawve no idea what type of shape he can get himself into.
I don't want to see it

Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
I very much doubt he's out of shape - he always struck me as a bit of a gym rat - and you can see he's got a home gym setup there.tiny_acres wrote: ↑21 Feb 2023, 08:39 Froch is 45 and been retired for 9 years. We hawve no idea what type of shape he can get himself into.

Silva was shot to pieces and was clearly well past it, and the punch that put him over was dubious to say the least, it seemed to glance his nose.
Even a 45 year old Froch is likely to kick Paul's arse badly.
Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
You know when your a ameteur novice and do 2 minuite rnds , its hard , then you become open and do 3 minuite rnds its very hard ,, but you think 2 minuites was easy ,,, you turn pro and progress to 6 - 8 - 10 rnds and think why the fook did i think 3 thre minuite rnds was hard ,,, give it away walk back in the gym start to spar and straight away off the street do 6 rnds no problem .
Froch will turn up at any gym tomoro jump in and do 6 hard competetive rnds of sparring getting ready for an 8 rounder will be a peice of piss for him , he's in good shape already . But it will never happen Paul is'nt stupid

Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
I’d think Paul may be tempted as older retired fighters do get quite brittle when they attempt comebacks, and presumably that’s in part because they’re not used to getting hit anymore.

Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
That's what I thought - it would be different if he'd let himself get massively out of shape - but he clearly hasn't , he's not at his old fighting weight, but he's not obese, he just doesn't have to make weight any more.coneye wrote: ↑21 Feb 2023, 08:52 You know when your a ameteur novice and do 2 minuite rnds , its hard , then you become open and do 3 minuite rnds its very hard ,, but you think 2 minuites was easy ,,, you turn pro and progress to 6 - 8 - 10 rnds and think why the fook did i think 3 thre minuite rnds was hard ,,, give it away walk back in the gym start to spar and straight away off the street do 6 rnds no problem .

No way Paul takes the fight, unless Froch agreed to not put in much of an effort - and no chance Carl was sully his legacy by allowing Paul a walkover.

Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
He will have to get past Fury for this to be even considered but if he does, the money for both would be huge. Obviously Froch was a brilliant world champion and probably one of the hardest pudenda to come out of this country but he's an old man now in fighting terms, look at Anderson Silver, can you imagine what he would have done to Paul 10 years earlier?
Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
Plus Froch got that new hooter he`ll want to protect. Can imagine him being precious about protecting that nowadays.
Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
That footage of silva is revealing isn’t it? There was also some footage of Silva making him miss a will. Very suspect.

Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr outsized Andy Lee twelve years ago and landed a good punch against Sergio Martinez ten years ago, had a few lucky decisions early in his career too (wonder why he got the benefit) that's about all he's done other than he called Julio Cesar ChavezJamesPhilips wrote: ↑21 Feb 2023, 12:34Silva threw about 3 punches for the first few rounds. I still find it weird Silva beat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr
Wasn't the running form on him that he had no dedication to the sport, preferred to get stoned and was a weight bully
Could have had a loss to Irish PE teacher Oisin Fagan
It was a good result for Silva but Chavez' ex world champion status and being the son and namesake of one of the absolute greatest of all time really flatters his level even in his prime

Froch, even at his age and inactivity does just come across as desperate for a payday mouthing off over boxers at JP or TF current level.
Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
While I doubt Froch needs the money, I reckon he will happily prostitute himself to fight a novice.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023, 15:00 Froch, even at his age and inactivity does just come across as desperate for a payday mouthing off over boxers at JP or TF current level.

Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
Absolutely sure he has no financial worries, he’s made plenty and I believe been very sensible but enormous money to box someone like JP is attractive to the point of irresistible. Obviously you’d expect Froch to walk it even now, but natural size difference and everyone gets old makes the unimaginable potentially plausible. I mean, surely not…. but….Coco wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023, 18:23While I doubt Froch needs the money, I reckon he will happily prostitute himself to fight a novice.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023, 15:00 Froch, even at his age and inactivity does just come across as desperate for a payday mouthing off over boxers at JP or TF current level.

He has proven he will prostitute himself for anyone and anything. He would prob rather prostitute himself for fighting Paul than as he does in commentary.KiwiRider wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023, 19:29He has proven he will prostitute himself for anyone and anything. I bet it would be his biggest payday too, good luck to him, hope he gets the fight, might bring JC out of retirement as well!

Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
Froch was famously hittable (albeit at a much higher level) and needed that chin, so what if it's gone. He'd obliterate Paul and look like a bully if it hasn't, so apart from the money it's a lose-lose for his reputation. Someone in the comments said he was turning into a mini Eddie Hall!
I'd actually feel more confident in Calzaghe against Paul, because he'd be smart enough to box cautiously and just outpoint him. So long as he could do enough roadwork, because he would need at least half the engine he had when he retired.

paul would never come close to any of these guys, he's no dummy when it comes to picking his fights. he can fight far worse opponents for more attention

The ring entrances and associated palaver for his fight with Dummy Fury will probably take longer than the actual fight. It is all about the posturing and the show.
Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
Precisely. Doubt Rachel would let Froch back in the ring anyway. He doesn't need it but he would knock the shite out of a novice like jake paul if it happened.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023, 23:22 paul would never come close to any of these guys, he's no dummy when it comes to picking his fights. he can fight far worse opponents for more attention
He should just ignore his bullshit.

Paul has said he done it to get more publicity and buys for the Fury fight, he’s just playing the social media game

And from Paul's side, why would calling out Carl Froch of all people increase buys?? He's not exactly the casuals favourite household name, despite his brilliant career actually IN the ring
Re: Carl Froch calling out Paul?
Jake Paul used to do silly stunts in his YouTube days (and when he was torturing his neighbours) he was never afraid to risk injury if him to ride a motorbike standing up was anything to go byg he seems to have genuinely fallen in love with the sport, and the oldest bloody cliche in the book that his brother and "KSI" took advantage of is everybody turns up for a fistfight
Seeing the names of two actual world class fighters on the undercard on the poster just sitting microscope under JAKE PAUL TOMMY FURY just stuck on like smallprint like (by the way if you a really happen to be a fan of boxing there will be an actual boxing match on before the main event)

I don’t understand all the hate Jake Paul gets. I think he’s shown guys taking up the sport.
