Conor Benn Cleared By WBC

As expected, Conor Benn has been cleared by the WBC after stating the amount of eggs he eats as a 'reasonable excuse'... you couldn't make it up.

He's been immediately reinstated into their rankings. Just the BBBofC left to clear him now so he can fight in the UK again.

This doesn't happen in any other sport, closest it comes is in MMA. Nothing else is even close. It's as simple as that.

Usually I'd be angry but I think it's laughable on the part of Benn/Matchroom that they actually expect people to believe this.

- only boxer to ever fail a drug test for egg-consumption
- took 4 months to respond to the WBC
- 6 months to provide his 'diet plan' which showed heavy egg consumption

WBC are noted bastions of truth and justice. I’m 100% certain they have looked at this honestly and reached a fair conclusion based entirely on the evidence presented.

Bet they never publish that ropey 270 page defence document, which is no doubt full of dodgy old studies with no real bearing on the UK food industry. Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t pretty much all athletes eat loads of eggs? What is this defence, a blanket shield against all doping test failures? Lol

I’m not totally across this - does being cleared by a sanctioning body help him get licensed? I’m presuming America and the UK won’t, so is he just a road warrior off to far flung places now? Australia is pretty much the Wild West for boxing generally.

i'd be the last person to ask mate, i just assume (as you say) that boxing being as it is he will hang up his shingle somewhere or other but i wouldn't be sure that would preclude even the UK and US, just, because boxing..

If he's drinking egg whites it's highly possibly. My mate drinks two bottles every day, which both contain one litre of egg whites.

No, because he doesn't test. There's gotta be 20 egg whites in each litre, maybe even 30.

UK investigation still ongoing but they don’t have the money to do anything major against Benn. He’s chucked his license anyway so expect to see him in the Middle East next.

When I was a kid, my brother used to drink eight eggs in a pint glass before he went to gym. I'm sure Rocky Balboa drank eggs in the first movie, which inspired a generation. Some old time boxers would drink/eat loads of eggs. Different era now.

60 eggs a day seems totally made up. Not even full PED Mr Olympia’s would bother eating that much protein per day. Just fantasy land stuff! Say you’re getting only 5 grams of protein, times 60, that’s 300 grams of protein a day just off the eggs! Say another 150 grams of all his other healthy food. 450 grams of protein a day on what a 170 pound body weight. What fricking nutritionalist is ever going to have him on that diet plan!

It might be made up, but it's definitely possible.

Didn't David Haye eat 6/8 full chickens everyday when he was a meat eater in training.

Sounds like some David Haye BS. Maybe 5 or 6 meals with chicken breast in I guess.

I'm not dying and I don't have a side. I'm just stating a fact. Some people drink egg whites. There are 30 or so in a litre.

Don't British eggs not have Clomiphene? I'm sure someone posted a link confirming that somewhere.

Also, why have no other athletes failed in this way before. I'm sure lots eat plenty of eggs, has Benn been setting records for egg eating now?

He also suggested that it was a contamination first, not from egg consumption. Changed his story when the lawyer saw another route.
