I’ve got a dreadful feeling that after Jake Paul wins, Makabu (possibly Badou Jack but probably Makabu) is going to ‘challenge’ him.

I wonder how many of us are going to buy this but not admit to it…
I’m not saying it’s going to be loads.
I’m not saying I’m one of those people either…

I’m probably not going to buy this. But…as it gets closer, the intrigue might take over and I might end up paying for it and I’ll happily admit to it!

Re: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury | BT PPV - 26 February 2023
Must admit I’m dying to watch it.
I just feel some kind of vague responsibility to the sport and to real boxing fans will stop me from buying it. I mean if I pay £20 for this it just encourages the major broadcasters to avoid having to jump through hoops trying to make big fights between primadonna stars (Spence Crawford for example) and instead turn their attentions to the much easier task of making low level fights like this involving c list celebs.
If this is a success in the uk we’ll see a proliferation of this rubbish
Re: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury | BT PPV - 26 February 2023
I'm buying it and backing the fight will pay for that
Re: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury | BT PPV - 26 February 2023
I think it will undoubtedly be a success tonight. But I don’t believe there are many other lads out there who could replicate it to this magnitude.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑25 Feb 2023, 08:11Must admit I’m dying to watch it.

I never paid for any bout. Never understood paying for two men beating the hell out of each other, especially in the internet era.
I'll watch this bout for sure.

The Makabu v Jack fight intrigues me enough that I may well buy this.

Silly - as if Tommy wouldn’t want the fight was somehow scared.
That said, there IS a lot riding on this, Jake’s incredibly lucrative career and Tommy’s “ Fury Reputation”…
It’s why I’ll pay to watch.
Who ya got Mickey ?
Presumably Tommy by surgical dissection TKO3 or thereabouts..,? Wouldn’t surprise me if Tommy DID (finally) put it all together on the night - he’s shown flashes for sure.

Re: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury | BT PPV - 26 February 2023
Pretty much, I saw Paul Smith interviewed and was asked if he would fight Jake Paul for £5m, he said for that money he'd fight Tyson Fury and AJ. You just could never turn down that much money whoever you are. It's absolutely insane, generational money for a novices fight.Frostieballs wrote: ↑25 Feb 2023, 07:57£5 million happened to himmickey1975 wrote: ↑25 Feb 2023, 06:49 So what happened to Tommy being a coward, shithouse, terrified of Jake Paul, etc, written in several dozen posts on this very thread? I’ll be buying it and enjoying it tho’
Boxing is so horrible and crap a lot of the time - it’s not like this tawdry circus diminishes it.

Main event will be just after 9pm UK time
Re: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury | BT PPV - 26 February 2023
I still spend a fair amount on watching boxing, despite the best efforts of the sport to turn me off it. This tawdry spectacle i won't even be stealing. The only satisfactory outcome will be if they both somehow permanently injure each other enough that neither can ever disgrace boxing again
