Former WBA Super world featherweight champion Nicholas “Axe Man” Walters (26-1-1, 21 KOs) makes his long awaited ring return this Saturday in Santa Marta, Colombia. Walters will take on local Luis Diaz Marmol (19-16, 11 KOs) in a scheduled eight round super lightweight bout.
The Jamaican-born Panama-based Walters will be fighting for the first time since a 2016 loss to Vasyl Lomachenko. Apparently he's been in training for months.

Re: Nicholas "Axe Man" Walters returns this Saturday after a 6 1/2 year absence
I attended the Lomachenko v Walters fight, I stayed in Vegas an extra week because of it as I was there for the Ward v Kovalev 1 event 7 days before.
Was I ever disappointed in Walters that night, he basically just threw the towel in and stopped boxing.
I was really surprised at him, previously he looked quite good and I was as excited to see him as I was Lomachenko.
Anyways, that was then this is now, everyone gets a second chance so lets let bygones be bygones, he must be late 30's by now.

I don't know what level Walters is coming back at. It's probably too long out for him, but the guy could bang. But being a smaller fighter, speed is crucial and his time away has surely affected his speed and timing. The power will be there, but will he be able to get it there?
We shall see.
We shall see.

7 years later.
How old is he now?
He’s lost prime years of his career.

I got this (below) from a recent interview to help answer your questions.
“For the last six years I have been chilling with the family,” said the father of two. I would go to the gym, but wasn’t really serious about fighting until now. I made up my mind to do another four years.”
“After sparring with other fighters here in Panama, my coach and other coaches asked me to come back to the sport,” Walters (26-1-1, 21 knockouts) told The Ring. “I was making it very difficult for the guys that I was sparring with, so everyone was saying I should make a comeback.”
Here's a photo from todays weigh in.

Walters won by decision last night. The official scorecard was 80-72 and 78-74 twice. A quick return to the ring is expected for Walters, who wants to remain active.

Seen some sketchy picture of himself holding his arms up in the ring, could be anywhere.
