Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Gonna play devil's advocate here, what if he's genuinely innocent and there has been flaws in the testing or whatever, wouldn't you be pissed? A lot has been made about his conduct in the aftermath and if he's a drug cheat then he comes across as a total bellend and still a danger to the sport if he's in denial but what if he's innocent and has hd to listen to the constant backlash?
I believe he's probably guilty but who knows, I wouldn't trust the WBCs investigation, Sulaiman is a crook and didn't even know the basic facts in an interview regarding the eggs etc
Boxings filthy whether it be fighters, promoters, commissions and especially governing bodies, I'm gonna reserve judgement until this plays out, because I detest drug cheats in boxing he's making some outlandish claims, surely if he'd been cleared he'd let sleeping dogs lie
Maybe I'm being naive but none of us know if what's he's saying about VADA has merit

Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Even that is only part of the story.
WBC confirm that at the start of last month they engaged Benn and his team about his diet. How they then get to a point where they are satisfied that eggs are a reasonable explanation is incredible and needs explaining.
On Benn's side, he's simply saying things like 'No way would I spend money defending myself if I wasn't innocent' and giving very partial accounts of the testing process.
This shit doesn't happen in any other sport where drugs testing is so important.

I don’t understand why they don’t release it. They are the ones who want “the truth”’ out and it’s their own document so just release it and let people see their side of the story. But I think they should also do a hair follicle test as well if they are that confident.
Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Also by the way, this stuff about Conor Benn standing up for other boxers, and Eddie being really concerned about this happening to other fighters, Has anyone else ever else in years and years of testing ended up with two positive tests and put together a strong case of contamination in terms of the testing (not in terms of what they have consumed)??? No, of course not.

Benn started shaving his head and beard when his physique changed drastically despite paying for a beard transplant.Controversial wrote: ↑01 Mar 2023, 12:08I don’t understand why they don’t release it. Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
This isn't the whole article but the relevant new info:
Eddie Hearn has approached numerous commissions in the US about the possibility of obtaining a boxing licence for Conor Benn. Hearn told the Guardian he believes Benn will receive an American licence in “a couple of weeks”.
A source had informed the Guardian that Matchroom had reached out to Jeff Mullen, the executive director of the Nevada Commission, to discuss the granting of a licence to the British fighter.
Hearn added: “I will only look to get him licenced in countries that have some relevance. For example it’s very likely his next fight will be in America, so we move forward with an American commission. Also his family live in Australia, and he spends a great amount of time there, so Australia could be an option. I’m not going to Luxembourg or somewhere that doesn’t have relevance to his career. There have been preliminary talks with [US] commissions … about a month ago.”

Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Do people think this handing back his British licence was tactical, in that it’s better than losing a licence, which would have been bad optics for Benn/Hearn? Perhaps The Board on some level will welcome the problem moving off-continent rather than having to directly address it. Ultimately I suspect after one or two fights abroad it will be obvious that Benn has melted without his ‘cycles’ and looks very ordinary.joshj909 wrote: ↑01 Mar 2023, 13:19This isn't the whole article but the relevant new info:

So Britain has no relevance now even though he had fought the majority of his career here?joshj909 wrote: ↑01 Mar 2023, 13:19This isn't the whole article but the relevant new info:

Will be interesting if he continues to be VADA tested as required by the WBC after all this.polecateddy wrote: ↑01 Mar 2023, 13:41Do people think this handing back his British licence was tactical, in that it’s better than losing a licence, which would have been bad optics for Benn/Hearn? If he's innocent he asks for the B Sample to be tested and he asks for hair follicle testing to prove his innocence. He hasn't done either because he knows they'll show up dirty. This is Trumpian levels of dellusion and like Trump he's trying to bully everyone exposing the truth about himhandsofstone wrote: ↑01 Mar 2023, 11:48 Gonna play devil's advocate here, what if he's genuinely innocent and there has been flaws in the testing or whatever, wouldn't you be pissed? Yeh maybe, what I don't understand stand why was there only a trace amount a week after a clean sample??Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote: ↑01 Mar 2023, 14:04If he's innocent he asks for the B Sample to be tested and he asks for hair follicle testing to prove his innocence. It's a mess and having the WBC and BBBC in charge further muddys the waters
Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Amusing how Benn can’t let it drop but makes himself sound more and more laughable with each statement.
Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Look at the Sims gym:
Conor Benn - failed 2 tests
Joe Cordina - previously feather fisted but irons out a world champion with one punch a few months before Benn’s failed tests
Craig Richards - pulls out of a fight weeks after the Benn news
Felix Cash - looks crap weeks after Benn’s failed test against a no hoper
Tony Sims - a man of honour and decency according to Hearn and Bellew yet was a notorious London gangster who was the subject of a huge police operation

Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Felix Cash doesn’t look massively natural to the naked eye. A little bit too lean, like he’s enjoying the fat burning qualities of certain substances. He just stands out a bit for me.ashall2 wrote: ↑01 Mar 2023, 14:59 Look at the Sims gym:

This stuff about VADA testing Benn’s sample 4 times. It’s probably just made up or made very out of context by Benn’s legal team. I’d bet VADA was finding things in those samples from the start.
Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Maybe the first three were inclusive. Maybe they usually rest a few times for a few different things. There are plenty of reasonable possible explanations.polecateddy wrote: ↑01 Mar 2023, 15:52Felix Cash doesn’t look massively natural to the naked eye. Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
From the journalist covering this, on Benns statement....
"If I read this statement correctly Benn believes clomifene was never in his system and that testing errors caused not one but two positives…
He doesn’t name the laboratory where he alleges the contamination occurred, nor does he specify if it was the same lab in both instances"

if we give him a pass we gotta do it for pretty much every ped user, they all try to muddy the waters and his case has no more doubt than most of them. if we take that route, we just gotta say f@ck it we're not gonna test anymore
