Looked to have very nice balance, looked like he could have been a good pure boxer. Big bastard as well, looked quite a bit bigger than Skelton did in there.

LeBanner hits like a truck. His problem is that his chin is TERRIBLE. Really bad. In boxing he'd have been like Pele Reid only a bit better.

LeBanner is the best fighter never to win the K1 Grand Prix in my eyes. As others have said he is a roid beast but his whiskers are poor..

My favourite K1 fighter right now, and arguably the best, is Ruslan Karaev of Russia.

He isnt the biggest guy but he has a nice, balanced style.

I'd like to see someone like that Karaev fighting queensbury rules. He seems to have nice balance and a bit of pop in his punches. Could easily be moulded into a good boxer, I reckon. I can't really tell how big his is though. Looks like he'd be more of a light heavyweight or a cruiserweight than a heavyweight, but it's hard to tell..

Didn't Ray Sefo absolutely nuke him in May. I'm pretty sure he did.

Karaev looked superior (skills wise) but Sefo caught him with his chin out to dry and sparked him proper style. You can probably get the fight on youtube.

Have you seen Sefo v Le Banner....... brutal. From 1997 i think, Le Banner a lot smaller... Sefo too.... Sefo a lot faster

Sefo's dig is very respectable. People stay down when he catches them clean.

Knockout, question for you...

A few years back I would have never thought any combat sport could get close to boxing as my favourite but I have to admit K-1 is right up there now (for me). I like Pride and the other MMA formats too.

Is boxing still your favourite (presuming it was)?

Boxing is still easily number 1 for me. I've seen some exciting K-1 and MMA fights, but nothing that compares with the best boxing has to offer.

A good boxing match for me is still numero uno....Nothing better.... but because of politics and multiple world titles we dont get to see the best face the best too often.

However K1 and UFC/Pride continually match the best against the best.... therefore you get better fights consistently which is all part of the appeal

You dont get Hot prospect against journeyman where the result is guaranteed

Like knockout, boxing at its best is far superior to any other combat sport (in terms of both skill levels and as a spectacle.)

It is the match making in MMA/K1 that makes it so appealing and a refreshing change to the majority of boxing contests.

Instead of being infuriated by matches like Calzaghe v Bika, you can enjoy high quality pairings like Cro Cop v Silva and Nog v Barnett in the Pride Open Weight GP
