It's not being scared to fight, it's everything that comes with it. It's the fear of losing to someone he has belittled so much when the stakes are at their highest and all eyes are on him. It may be the fear of no longer having the drive to box if he does win which may see him spiral back down into drug and alcohol abuse. It may be that he doesn't believe in himself as much as he used to and has internal doubts. It may be the fear of losing belief in himself and think he's just a loud mouth old man like his dad if he isn't the undisputed champ and best of his era. He might be scared of becoming just a historical boxer rather than leaving the legacy he wants. There are many fears which he could be having leading up to a fight of this magnitude given his behaviour, his opposition and everything that's at stake. Nobody is saying that he's scared to throw a punch or take a punch, it's everything surrounding that. We saw what happened last time he reached what he believed was the pinnacle of the sport...

I also wonder if Tyson having his dad around so much helps as whilst I think he’s very knowledgeable on certain things I also think his view on all things Tyson will be too biased.

I actually think the belly insult has strangely got to him. He can say he hasn't got insecurities but his weight probably is an insecurity. So a Ukrainian Bond Villian constantly talking down to him about it in the simple word 'belly' is bothering him. He's usually winning the mind games or trash talk but that isn't the case here. That and being in what might be a genuine 50-50 is bothering him. Going into Wilder, Whyte, Chisora he knew all he had to do was apply a blue print. This is a level skill contest

His weird obsession with Joshua's looks and body were clear signs that he is insecure about his appearance. He tried to own it by being the one to call himself fat and ugly but he may not be liking it now.

Every person will have times where they feel on top of the world, and times when they think life is sh1t. That's life.

When things significantly progress to impacting on your life then that's when a Doctor may look to give a diagnosis. There is a diagnosis criteria for lower level mood disorders like depression which I guess most of us would meet .. but for the more problematic but still lower level cyclothymia there would need to be quite significant evidence needed over something like a 2 year timeline .. as said - this would need to be quite significant. Something we have not seen from Tyson Fury.

To progress to full on diagnosis of bipolar is something else. There have been a couple ex boxers (and a father of a current boxer) demonstrating what an episode looks like. Fury most definitely has not demonstrated this ever.

It could be argued Fury demonstrates having EUPD more than bipolar. He appears to go to bits when things not going as he wants it too .. such as now when his bluff has been called and he sees his popularity plummet.
