DAZN signs long-term rights pact with KSI, Misfits Boxing
DAZN has agreed a five-year deal with social media star KSI and his promotional company Misfits Boxing in an agreement that the subscription sports broadcaster claims is indicative of a commitment to attract new, younger audiences to the platform.
The deal, in association with promoters the Sauerland brothers and the Wasserman Boxing promotion and KSI's Proper Loud management team, will see all KSI fights and MF & DAZN: X Series events broadcast exclusively on the platform for the next five years.

British Boxing Board of Control Concerned By Rise of Misfits Boxing
The General Secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control admits he is ‘concerned’ by the rise of Misfits Boxing.
And Robert Smith has also revealed he is hoping to secure a meeting with leaders of the spin-off product to ensure the safety of the combatants.
Misfits is the wildly popular crossover boxing series founded by Youtuber-turned boxer KSI, who has been at the forefront of that scene since he fought Joe Weller in a white-collar event in 2018.
It made such an impact that DAZN agreed a five-year deal to broadcast all KSI fights and MF & DAZN: X Series events exclusively on the platform for the next five years.
That deal was in association with the Sauerland brothers, Kalle and Nisse, as well as Wasserman Boxing but DAZN Executive Vice President Joe Markowski insists it should not be treated like traditional boxing but rather a different product entirely.
Markowski is also adamant that all medical procedures around the events, which are not licensed by the Board, are stringent.
But General Secretary Smith says he has made contact with those in charge at the events as he seeks to ensure no damage is done to the sport as a result of Misfits.
He told the George Groves Boxing Club podcast: “I have spoken to members of Misfits about having a meeting because I am concerned.
“If somebody gets injured it’s boxing, it’s not Misfits boxing, it’s boxing. The first person who’s going to get the phonecall is me.
“The trouble we’ve got is they may not want to come to the Board because they know they won’t get a licence so there’s half the show gone and I fully understand that.
“Let’s just see what they can supply us with and let’s see how we can deal with it. If we’re not happy then we won’t do it but if we’re happy we’ll do it.”
It has also been suggested that KSI may apply for a licence with the Board with potential money-spinning fights against the likes of Tommy Fury and Jake Paul - who are both fully licensed boxers - seemingly on the horizon.
Smith added: “We wont start looking at it until he applies but I presume that’s coming. But if he’s not good enough he won’t get one, it’s as simple as that.
“Jake Paul has a licence with California, he’s not the best boxer in the world but I don’t think he disgraced himself [against Tommy Fury].
“More than likely there are people in this country with less ability or the same ability [as Paul] have got a licence so therefore you have to consider that. He is licensed by an authentic governing body.
“But so far, KSI, I’ve never had any contact with whatsoever.”
Boxing Scene approached both DAZN and Sauerland Promotions but neither were available for comment.

So now the board are trying to jump on the Bandwagon and nick a piece of the action. If misfits has all to the safety measures in place then why do they need the board

Why doesn't Smith spend more time worrying about his own Board of no control rather than trying to make a cash grab. It's as simple as that.

It's funny how the Board wants to enquire about the safety aspects of Misfits boxing on that particular podcast, and safety failures about themickey1975 wrote: ↑15 Mar 2023, 15:52He didn’t at all. Eduard Gutknecht incident can't be discussed in the same breath. Transparency for others but not for the Board. Smith is more than welcome to express concerns as he did but at the same time let the public know what failures, if any, did the Board make in that case.

Andrew Tate announces boxing match with Misfits and ‘replaces’ KSI as CEO
Andrew Tate is set to compete in a boxing match organised by Misfits, claiming he is replacing YouTube star KSI as the fight promotion’s CEO.
Tate, a British-American influencer, is due to fight TV personality Chase DeMoor, 29, in Dubai on 20 December.
Tate, 38, is a former professional kickboxer with a record of 76 wins (32 knockouts), 9 losses and 1 draw, and he has also competed in mixed martial arts. His Misfits bout – a heavyweight contest – will mark his boxing debut.
However, Tate is best known as an influencer. A self-described “misogynist” who flaunts his lavish lifestyle on social media, Tate has faced numerous allegations of rape and human trafficking. Tate and his 37-year-old brother Tristan, who has also faced accusations of rape and human trafficking, both deny all of the allegations against them.
This May, the UK Crown Prosecution Service brought 21 charges against the brothers. The Service said Andrew faces 10 charges relating to three alleged victims – including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain – while Tristan faces 11 charges pertaining to one alleged victim, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking.
Andrew Tate last fought in December 2020, winning a kickboxing match with Cosmin Lingurar via second-round technical knockout. That result in Bucharest saw him build on two previous stoppage wins in the Romanian capital earlier in the year: a February victory over Iulian Strugariu and a November win against Miralem Ahmeti.
Now he ventures into boxing, as part of the Misfits promotion formerly – per his claim – headed up by KSI.
“Welcome to your new CEO, it wasn’t a hostile takeover but it was certainly planned,” said Tate in an announcement video, “and Mams [Taylor] and I are going to be working together to finally put Misfits where it belongs on the world stage.
“The largest disruptive force in sports entertainment history, so considering that somebody that failed at their obligations to make this organisation as big as it should’ve been has been ousted and I’m the new CEO,” Tate claimed.
“KSI tweeted something that annoyed me three years ago, so long story short: I took his company from him,” Tate added in an interview with Fred Talks Fighting on Thursday.
“And considering that I’m the largest name on the planet, if I’m gonna fight on an organisation, why not fight on an organisation that I own a percentage of? It makes a lot of business sense.”
YouTuber KSI, real name Olajide Olatunji, launched Misfits in 2021 and fought five times under the promotion.

KSI Issues Statement as Andrew Tate Replaces Him at Misfits With Fight Confirmed
KSI has released a furious statement after controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate replaced him as CEO of Misfits boxing ahead of his debut fight.
In May 2022, British YouTuber KSI, his manager Mams Taylor, and boxing promoters Kalle Sauerland and Nisse Sauerland set up Misfits boxing, a promotion for events featuring influencers and former combat sport professionals.
The first event saw KSI take on two fights in one night, beating both English rapper Swarmz and Mexican professional boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda via knockout.
Misfit's announcement that Tate was the company's new CEO, a role described by Tate as the 'Combat Executive Officer', came alongside confirmation that he would fight reigning Misfits Boxing heavyweight champion Chase De Moor on December 20th in Dubai.
Sources close to DAZN told BBC Sport in August that Tate, who holds a pro kickboxing record of 76-9-1, would not become involved with Misfits, despite holding advanced negotiations to appear at an event this year.
And it's clearly not gone down well with former Misfits CEO and founder KSI, who took to X to share a series of furious posts reacting to the news.
He wrote: "This year people are trying to test me fr. WHAT THE ACTUAL F*** IS GOING ON? This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Let’s make ANDREW TATE THE CEO OF MISFITS?!? ARE YOU F****** SERIOUS?!?"
In a series of follow-up posts, KSI lashed out at his manager Taylor, claiming: "Bro has been focused on misfits rather than managing me lol. And you decide to do this shit"
However, many fans are skeptical of the YouTuber's outrage, claiming that it is likely WWE-style setup for a potential fight with Tate, should he win his fight against De Moor in December.
Following his back-to-back wins in the first Misfits event, KSI took to the microphone to call out Tate, perhaps suggesting that he would still be interested in a bout with the former kickboxer, despite his ongoing legal battles and controversial opinions.
