Dillian Whyte vs. TBA | DAZN - 10 June 2023

Rumours on twitter.

Dil is headlining a Matchroom card on June 10th. No opponent yet. Doubt this will be AJ.

Hughes vs. Courtenay will be on the undercard.

Thoughts on who he should fight?

Are they pivoting away from the Joshua Whyte fight?

Stick him in with Hrgovic

If it's supposed to be a fairly big or competitive fight then one of: Wilder, Ruiz, Ortiz, Bakole, Sanchez, Dubois, Hrgovic, Wallin, Demirezen, Gassiev, Kabayel, Kossobutskiy, Ajagba, Pero. Theres also the likes of Pulev and Takam but they are probably better served up against a prospect. I've omitted some names because they'll be very unlikely.

If it's a stay busy fight in order to fight Joshua or someone else that's top ~5 later in the in the year, then a few others would be acceptable in addition to Pulev and Takam: The likes of Kean, Shaw, Dychko, McKean, Romanov. Maybe smash Miller if he beats Browne?

Probably a pretty good chance. You have Wilder, Ruiz, Sanchez, Hrgovic, Sanchez, Kabayel/Makhmudov who will all have fights scheduled or eliminators called that they will likely prefer to take. Dubois possibly aswell.

Hearn will have realised from the Joshua tickets that the fans won't accept an unqualified opponent to headline. So, from the second list then perhaps McKean might be sellable because he's unbeaten, Dychko perhaps also because of the Olympics but that's it.

So, of the remaining names you have Ortiz, Wallin, Demirezen, Gassiev, Kabayel, Kossobutskiy, Ajagba, Pero. Ortiz and Wallin are the best known to casuals, then you could also sell Kabayel because of his Chisora win. Gassiev could sell because of his Usyk history but he's a big risk. I'd give Wallin a solid 40% chance of being his opponent

Strange for them to have Whyte out in June I’d he’s supposedly fighting AJ this summer.

Perhaps that means AJ may be going another route? Perhaps Ngannou?

Joshua Vs Hrgovic for the IBF eliminator is likely to get called with Ruiz turning it down for the WBC eliminator and Wilder pursuing Ngannou. Alternatively, we could see Joshua Vs Whyte in the Autumn if Joshua wants a second stay busy fight in the summer.

Carlos Takam especially as he just beat Yoka, otherwise someone below par like Trevor Bryan as Whyte is barely top 40 these days.

This seems silly, why not got closer AJs fight so if they both win smooth they can fight in summer…

Also if your booked to fight Whyte in June and AJ wins easy then surly there’s a fair chance your fights getting pulled and Whyte vs AJ made in July/august.

As for opponent, I can’t see it being Otto, I don’t think Otto is very good but I think he wins rounds vs current Whyte. And Whyte can not take a loss right now. If they are going tall mediocre southpaws I think dempsy is more likely. (Bit bigger puncher bit way shitter version of Otto and in house)

Has that in-house backup plan where dempsy chins Whyte then you can always make dempsy vs AJ…

Don't know if it is tbh, not that Whyte was ever that good to begin with.

Whyte needs to make a statement after the lackluster close dec over the blob Franklin. The Wallin bout shoud take place, since it was planned before. Yet something tells me Whyte didn't have just a bad night in his last bout, he's probably declining.

It was the least hate iv ever dished him and it hurt… admiting he was too dangerous for Whyte, admiting he was better than dempsy. For a hardcore Otto hater those things are tough. (Zero actual hate, just biggggg resume hate)

That Otto pictured has beat just as many current top 100s as wallin….

I'd like to see the shot Whyte against the fat Miller at this point.

I guess it's enough time for Miller to rest his defence, or face, as he calls it.
I really don't have much interest in either, but I would like a more deserving fighter take Miller's "0"

Whyte has been looking shitter than ever, good news is he should find an opponent no worries cause many would fancy it.

Whyte vs parker 2

Whyte vs Ruiz

Whyte vs Miller

Whyte vs ortiz

Whyte vs pulev

Whyte vs wilder

Whyte vs DDD

All are excelent matchups. and as shot as whyte may be all are winnable because there all faded (or shown vunrabilitys in DDDs case).... Wilder clearly the most dangerouse and theres a fair chance whyte would take an early snooze there... but he is getting on a bit too and taken some serious punishment vs fury.

I would prefer an undeserving fighter who nobody will be watching so that Miller loses his 0 without making millions
