This will be Matchroom’s first NextGen card.
Will take place at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle.
This is likely the main event, for the Vacant English Title.

It’s a fine fight between 2 guys that will be trying to win. I think Dacres is a level or two ahead.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 Jan 2023, 16:09 This will be Matchroom’s first NextGen card.

It’s NextGen though, so it doesn’t really matter too much.maverick23 wrote: ↑12 Jan 2023, 16:26It’s a fine fight between 2 guys that will be trying to win. I think Dacres is a level or two ahead.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 Jan 2023, 16:09 This will be Matchroom’s first NextGen card.

I’d be surprised if this is headlining though but I guess Matchroom don’t have any (I could be wrong) North East guys right on British title level.
McCormack will likely headline I would imaginemaverick23 wrote: ↑12 Jan 2023, 16:26It’s a fine fight between 2 guys that will be trying to win. I think Dacres is a level or two ahead.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 Jan 2023, 16:09 This will be Matchroom’s first NextGen card.

Good fight if it happens.
UK wise probably not. Only other one might be Sheffield in late April to get Harper out and perhaps give Smith another quick defence of his British.garethhop wrote: ↑18 Jan 2023, 07:51 That would be a cracking fight for 5-0 prospect and could make a real statement - I always feel Jenkins is a really good shot away from disaster, but a pretty good boxer.
Assuming there is going to be a big announce soon on the Matchroom cards through to April, which is currently held up by AJ stuff being finalised plus their approach on Connor Benn, and just maybe the confirmation that Cordina's return is all ok.
Expecting February Nottingham (already announced), Liverpool and Newcastle in March - think the March London card has been sacked off, Cardiff in April and the AJ PPV in April.
Missing anything?
He is more of a Bridgerweight these days, he is a similar build to Babic. So can compete with the heavyweights but isn't a fully fledged heaveyweight per say. I would imagine he took this fight a) its for a title and English one at that, b) its in his hometown and c) he is 35 so probably won't get another opportunity.funso banjo baby wrote: ↑18 Jan 2023, 08:18 Ismay is a cruiser with 3 fights in 9 years
What weight will he come in at?
Clarke vs Dacres would never fight for the English. Clarke will skip the English title as he is 31 and needs to push on. I think Dacres will vacate and push onto the British, we could see Clarke vs Dacres for the British but 100% not the English. Jeamie TKV vs Steve Robinson on a Sky show at the end of the year more likely for the vacant English.jameswilson wrote: ↑26 Jan 2023, 14:55 Hopefully the board call Frazer Clarke as first defence. Dacres v Clarke with the winner getting Wardley is a nice run of fights.
Judging by the weigh in he hasn't even trained.funso banjo baby wrote: ↑13 Mar 2023, 06:52 Hard to get hugely excited about this but at least they are both unbeaten.
Can't find any footage of ismay at all on YouTube....slightly worrying for an 11-0 record. He appears to be a semi retired old cruiser?
How many boxers must have turned the shot down. Presumably they went down the rankings like they normally would.
