People might criticise Lockett there but Jenkins did dip heavily at the knees after one of those shots and the previous rounds he got stunned very slightly a few times.

What a fight and a brilliant learning fight for Pattinson.

Round 8 is honestly one of the best rounds I've seen in a British ring.

Foty candidate

Good call from lockett , gutted for Jenkins, great effort but didn't have enough at the end .
Surprised Pattinson could keep that pace up .

Pattinson was great, but maybe get a 12 rounder in before Essuman, because that little bloke has a real engine and came strong in the championship rounds of his last fight.

Tremendous fight and a great win for Pattinson, both guys left there cojones out there all night, the heart on Jenkins never disappoints, both men came flying out the traps, Pattinson took the 1st but it was a risky strategy expanding so much energy early on, Jenkins came back firing in the 2nd landing some big shots to the body and it really took off, Jenkins always dangerous but Pattinson was taking charge and winning the rounds later just walking Jenkins down landing rights and lefts upstairs and down, Jenkins was wilting in the 8th and Pattinson forced the towel in the 9th, spectacular viewing

Excellent by Gary Lockett btw

Chris Jenkins - Yeah I was ok with the stoppage from Gary he's like a dad to me. My ear drum went in round 7, my right hand went in round 4 and my left hand went in round 3......'

Eddie Hearn - 'Apart from that you were fine.'

He gets stick on here but that was brilliant from Hearn.

He proved he's no slouch in that department , tremendous work rate that I couldn't believe he could keep up .

I read on here all the time but I rarely post. Feel compelled after that. Brilliant fight, tremendous effort by both.

Not even going to comment on where both go from here, they deserve to bask in the glory of that. Best fight I've seen in a long, long time.

I hope the punch stats come out as I'd be interested to know how many punches Pattinson threw and took each round as despite Jenkins not just falling over in the first he seemed to throw a lot despite taking them for 8 and a bit rounds.

That was quality. Jenkins couldn't miss with the right uppercut and had success when he got on his bike. Pattinson looks the goods. Locket did the right thing as Blackwell went on and got hurt. Where does Chris go now? I think he's still a good fighter. Welsh title then another go?

I don't think Cyprus should go straight for Essuman just yet. To stop Chris Jenkins in his 6th fight is crazy though. Best fight I've seen in a long time. A proper barnburner

True, I was impressed. But Essuman went into another gear in the tenth of his last fight and won 10,11, & 12 to retain the belt. 9 is a record for Pattinson so far

Pattinson relentless and Jenkins so brave but had fight punched out of him late on. Perfect stoppage by Lockett.

Just after Hopey Price has you questioning what you're doing with your life, this gets served up.
