Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - 18 May 2024
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - 29 April 2023?
WBA have ordered contacts to be signed by April 1.
Fury will stall until then and then once the WBA mandate Dubois he’ll be all over Instagram with his usual waffle.

A Dubois fight is another easy touch for Fury, can't see it happening.

Looks like Fury is just waiting for the Governing bodies to step in and/or for Uysk to walk away. Then he can say Uysk backed out.
Can anyone else remember such a cowardly champion as Fury? The only one I can think of is Antonio Margarita with his loaded wraps against Cotto.

I’m not sure who WBC’s mandatory is.
Usyk’s next fights are more of Les set if he doesn’t fight Fury.
Dubois, Hrgovic and Joyce.

Fury was my favourite active boxer alongside Crawford before this obnoxious behaviour. I'm still a fan but I'd now be quite happy to see Usyk embarassing him as a form of punnishment. Also while all the belts is most important for the hardcore, you're underestimating the cult of personality. For instance we know that unfortunately Crawford-Spence won't sell many PPVs despite it being the biggest WW unification in decades. We know the Holyfield-Lennox unification did significantly less PPVs than when either faced Mike Tyson. We know the cult of youtubers fighting, sells more than probably Bud Crawford who's an ATG in my eyes.tonyevs wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 09:24That was asked for Mick to answer - thanks for your thoughts on it, but I wanted it from the only die-hard Fury fan on here that the majority, including myself, actually have some respect for.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 06:45It depends. It's as 100% as it is the fight happening I'd say .. nobody knows either.
Fury recently said all the insta vids which most - even you Mick - had convinced fans Fury was ducking and lost the plot, was in fact an ingenious negotiating trick and PR stunt to sell tickets (to an as yes unconfirmed fight where tickets aren't even advertised or on sale yet).
Mick, question for you simply because your the most sensible Fury fan here. If this is true, that it's Fury's genius and skill at amateur psychology, and just a negotiating and ticket selling ploy.
Do you think it's been handled well by Fury given social media is at least 90% negative towards Fury now??
Its disappointing he has chosen to ignore it - but i guess that answers my question by default.
A fight with Usyk for all the belts didn`t need any theatricals to sell because its that big. We were even assured 100% it would be 100% pro Fury crowd cheering him on at Wembley ... apparently the Gypsy/travellers community would all be in attendance. So why would Fury need to make himself look a mug and start alienating his fan base?
Fury is an attention seeking whore - thats not news to anyone. He has books for sale and always keen to get a TV or radio appearance ... to suggest he intentionally turns himself into the bad-guy to sell the fight is nonsensical; he craves adoration too much ... my opinion is that his emotions have swamped him and he is in crisis.
You maybe completely right about Fury's motivations, I grant you that. I agree he's uncomfortable with the Usyk threat and he doesn't want to fight him for less than a king's ransom. I think he likes to be in control of the trash talk and mind games and the 'Greedy Belly' trashtalk is making him feel humiliated.

I don’t think it’s possible but the men in the know must do. This has been going on way too long to be a game.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 16:37You really think he's gonna fight Usyk in under 6 weeks for less money than he turned down in Saudi? It's quite off-topic but it always makes my blood boil when I see stuff like that (and no, I'm not French nor do I have any connection or affiliation with them).Coco wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 13:07Never seen a bloke more cowardly in my life, reminds me of the French in world wars.big lennox wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 11:44 Looks like Fury is just waiting for the Governing bodies to step in and/or for Uysk to walk away. The French have one of the most impressive military histories in the world. A little over two hundred years ago half the world shat their pants at the thought of the Grande Armée - and they are labelled cowards? Proportionally, they have lost more people in WWI than Germany, Russia or the UK - and they are labelled cowards? They faced the German army alone, without any allies, at Verdun which was called "the blood pump of the world" - the longest, bloodiest battle of WWI and despite suffering some 400k casualties, they won - and they are labelled cowards? The French slogan from WWI, 'Ils ne passeront pas' literally means 'they shall not pass' became known all around the world when they stopped the last major German attack at the Second Battle of the Marne in 1918, effectively winning the war for the allies as the forces that defeat the Germans there were some 75% French - and they are labelled cowards?
It's not their fault that the Maginot line was proven ineffective. Despite that, they were a winning power in WW2 too. The French resistance was one of the fiercest in world history. France is a historical example of a country good at waging war. Modern myths and internet memes cannot erase the impact France had on wars of the past, wars of today and the idea of the Western way of war. When you think of how we fight you are thinking of something that is most likely somewhat French.

Apologies for the deluge of images (I concede three in a row is a bit excessive) but nobody else is posting to break them up.
I was hoping Mickey (43, 17st, easy do 6 x 3) would pop in to castigate me

The French effort in the combination of world wars was about as much use as a chocolate teapot.887986 wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 17:06It's quite off-topic but it always makes my blood boil when I see stuff like that (and no, I'm not French nor do I have any connection or affiliation with them).Coco wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 13:07Never seen a bloke more cowardly in my life, reminds me of the French in world wars.big lennox wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 11:44 Looks like Fury is just waiting for the Governing bodies to step in and/or for Uysk to walk away. And one man's resistance is another man's Vichy.
You will find it was Russia which suffered the worse losses, far more froze in their trenches than the number of French losses.
The French effectively winning the war for the Allies??? I'll have a pint of what you're having!
The next thing you will be saying is that Fury has a pair of stones!
