It’s also been a total disaster, PR-wise. With the war in Ukraine, messing usyk around is a terrible look.

Fury is the biggest bottle job I have ever seen in 30 years or so of following the sports. What a total act of cowardice.

Uysk is the man. He has smoked the monster out. Fury's legacy is now trashed. Everyone, apart from the Big Doofus'of the World, will just think ' ducker' when they discuss Fury in boxing terms.

Luke the Coward.
... Everyone except Doofus, Henry, Mickey, and Coco

Looking at those names gets me thinking they all the same person. They all have a comedy/cartoon theme .. maybe they are all Fury moles sent to create chaos in the Boxrec knitting circle :maybe:
I’m as gutted as anyone.
See the way you put it, Mick? You are gutted - but that's it. No mentioning about who is the one responsible for the fight collapsing. You still wouldn't go there. You are gutted because you wanted to see the fight - but never in a million years you would add "you know what, boys, you are right - f**k Fury, that's on him, I'm very disappointed in him".

I rate Usyk highly, very highly

Same to Tyson, and backed him since day one, and I do think he would beat Usyk in a tricky fight

But this fight not coming off is not on usyk and his team at all

Is it likely that Fury just wants soft ‘novelty’ challenges for a couple of years and then to retire undefeated. I’d imagine Joyce isn’t relishing bothering with trying to enter into these type of negotiations. Is it going to be a case now that the top-line heavyweights will just not bother with the headache of playing these games? In terms of legacy, Fury really needs to be filed alongside Bowe. No way any higher than that.

Let Fury do a bit of WWE or soft fights like Chisora and all the other heavyweights can make fights without wasting their time on him.
The Joshua fight collapsed and now the Usyk fight so why would anyone bother to negotiate with him or his people anymore ? Fury's just become a tiresome bore and lost any relevancy

So is he going to fight someone feeble on the 29th April or is he having a little ‘I’m retired’ time?

Thank god he is banned from the USA. The British public won't put up with this farce for very much longer.

We know the answer to that don’t we. Such a shame it couldn’t be made due to Fury’s arrogance. I’d imagine Bob and Frank to be completely pissed off with it all.

I am pretty disappointed.

As much as I love Tyson Fury and believe him to be the best heavyweight in the world, the only blame there can be is on him. I think he simply wasn't ready, and Dereck Chisora was hardly good preparation for a fight of that magnitude.

You will never lose face with the public if you are honest. He should have said he needed more time or he needed a proper tune up before Usyk. Had he said that people would have given him respect on it, and it would have been understandable.

I don't think he needs to be stripped of the WBC but he should be forced to fight Andy Ruiz the #2 ranked heavyweight since Wilder is in negotiations to fight Francis Ngannou in Africa or Saudi Arabia. Tyson Fury has done a lot of damage to himself and his image and only proper fights will rectify the situation.

Ruiz> Joshua> Usyk needs to be the goal and those 2 men would be proper preparation for the task at hand, and give Fury more than enough time to be ready for Usyk. 2023 needs to be all about rebuilding the brand and the trust of boxing fans.

And if Tyson Fury is not willing to do that then he needs to dump the WBC belt and just be honest and say that he wants to have a career where he does what he wants to do, not proving anything to anyone except himself, and just campaign as lineal champion.

But if he does that he needs to be completely aware that he will give up any and all rights to be asking for 50/50 or 60/40 or 70/30 for anybody of consequence because he willingly took himself out of the dance.

What a mess.

Joyce is 3rd in-line on the mandatories. Dubois, Hrgovic and then Joyce.

The Joyce fight would be great though.

The big money is in this being in Saudi. Maybe happens later in the year there.

Guys just wait, I feel that this is just a tactic by the promoters and boxers.

Let’s remember AJ is fighting next week and Hearn will be looking to get a full week of press coverage for his event, he needs to sell the 1000’s of unsold tickets.

So with Fury and Usyk holding off until next week to announce their fight, this will have a massive impact on AJ’s press coverage. Wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t get a Fury v Usyk press conference next Wednesday or Thursday.

BBC Sport Website Headline:

‘Usyk walks away from Fury fight’.

Technically it’s true, but FFS we are going to hear enough BS from Fury - they don’t need to feed that narrative further!

Next Wednesday or Thursday would be too late. Never mind international fight fans, even fans from the UK wouldn't be able to arrange getting their tickets, travel details or accommodation in order. The 29th of April would only be some four weeks away. Announcing a fight of that magnitude that close to the deadline would never work in terms of logistics for the fans.

my mother in law asked me 3-4 weeks ago if this fight was happening i said i doubt a fight of this magnitude would be sorted out by april 29th but then it picked up and thought just maybe im not overly shocked its not happening but still abit surprised as sugar hill been over and and both camps look like they're training , when tyson and lewis fought in june 2002 im sure they had the face to face in the january where it kicked off i know the world of social media is different today but surely this fight should if been given more time

Sorry, 4 weeks is long enough for the event to sell out and for people to purchase their tickets and organise travel, etc, it only takes 1 day to buy your ticket and book a hotel and your travel if you need to. If the fight is to be held in the UK then it will sell out within 24 hours, so no need to rely on international fans. Remember these promoters are not worried about the fans.

F W on talkSPORT now.

Seems the problem is over agreeing terms for the rematch.

Win or lose, Fury camp still want the bigger share. Usual lines - ‘he’s the draw, he’s the ticket seller’ blah blah

This is defo not staged btw, F W sounds like smoke coming out his ears.

Hang on…. Usyk promoter coming on now!!

Fury's cowardice. Something he shares with his biggest fanboy on here.
