Trinidad-Vargas. Quality fight.
The Trinidad left hook is beautiful to watch.

Vitali Klitschko vs Corrie Sanders
I didn't remember it being such an entertaining fight. Vit got nailed early. Sanders just kept on coming until wearing out and getting stopped.

Klit arguably got knocked down there. If he didn't have a such hard chin, he could end up like his lil' brother. Sanders was very tough, his handspeed and power were dangerous for anybody, but he lacked stamina. Only Lewis was able to hurt Klit more than Sanders. I woner, how it could went, if Corrie wasn't just a two round banger.

Don Lee-Tony Sibson. A bout that took place in January of 1984. 5'7 Tony Sibson. 6'2-1/2 Don Lee.
This bout was interesting and entertaining, and it was also a proverbial example that the 3 knockdown rule should Never be in effect. Sibson was knocked down 3 times in the third round. He was obviously not particularly hurt though. With certain bouts they decided to decline the 3 KD rule, obviously beforehand. It was obviously a good idea for this particular bout.
Really it Should be declined in every boxing bout. And also, standing 8 counts Need to be implemented in all bouts.
It's like, Refs don't want to be bothered implementing standing 8 counts. They'd rather just wave it off prematurely, just so they can call it an early night for themselves, and often cheat the fans out on a "Would've been better fight", with a better discernment inclined ref. And a less lazy ref too.

John Tate vs Eddie Lopez. Obviously not truly a classic fight, but was a very good bout. I had it 58-56 for Tate, but you could make a case for him winning the first round as well. Eddie brought the fight to Tate, but Tate's solid boxing ability carried him
through.
through.

Brennan was Really Jacked.Caractacus wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 17:58 was reading Jack Dempsey's first autobiography ROUND BY ROUND (1940)
He writes that Brennan caught him with a good punch (a right uppercut)in the second round,
and that he (Dempsey)shook from head to toe, and was helpless and out on his feet for a second or two, and if Brennan had known that and went after him,
,that the HW Championship would have changed hands that day.
he also writes that somewhere in the middle rounds, Brennan landed a punch on Dempsey's ear
that tore the lower part of it and it felt like the bottom of his ear "was dangling by a of thread of skin "
He had that George Chuvalo build.

People get to see that the World wasn't so dull looking in the olden days.
When I was a very young kid, watching b & w films, it kinda made me think that the world must've been a dreary place before 1939(The year "The Wizard of Oz" was released).

That wasn't a bad fight. It was competitive for a while before Dempsey gradually started to take over.AngryGoon38 wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 09:23Brennan was Really Jacked.Caractacus wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 17:58 was reading Jack Dempsey's first autobiography ROUND BY ROUND (1940)

Dempsey really looked like a mean SOB, someone you'd stay well clear of.Caractacus wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 17:58 was reading Jack Dempsey's first autobiography ROUND BY ROUND (1940)
