116 - 112 Benavidez. I got the winner I predicted.

He will have to step his game up more against Canelo, though.

Bayless was a crap-shoot tonight. Everything was stacked against Benavidez and he still won this one. By the way, it's insane that Benavidez as the A-side allowed that football field-sized ring and Bayless not doing anything about Plant holding. Dude is legit, and I hope he gets the Canelo fight in September.

Benni is not in the same league, he is too one dimensional. Yes he can bang but he is really not made for sustained combination punching against elite opposition. also gives up way too many early rounds.

Plant tried to wrestle so much, that he got his left ear swollen after the physical fight, like wrestlers often tend to have.

Beni was desperate for a big fight. Plant has been in with Canelo. He’s fought PPV.

I’m guessing he had to give away some concessions.

He’s had that fight now.

Beni controlled the second half.. took a couple from the first half.

He was sailing in the championship rounds.

I think he was more frustrated that he wasn’t able to stop him.

Plant's sweet science lasted for 5 rounds, but he showed some guts in taking a beating and surviving.

Benavidez surprisingly made a sound statement to call Canelo out. It would be good, if Canelo fights him after Ryder.

For sure, seems to be the case here. Benavidez was the A-side and got second ring walk and that damn ridiculous ring. They should've just went down to the track and fought there to save the ring crew time as well. Anyways, with an impartial referee and an actual ring, Benavidez would've stopped Plant. Commentary was way too nice with Plant.

What was with the ref letting Plant measure his opponent with one hand out?

I remember Bayliss was pulling the same crap in the Maidana/Mayweather fight. Plant had to have that in the back of his mind. Bayliss is so trash, and he even saved Plant at one point. This was just as bad as Luis Pabon in the Klitschko/Povetkin fight. The amount of holding from Plant was easily DQ-able.

Did you forget that Plant held Benavidez when he got within an inch of him. The referee also stopped the action when Plant was hurt. Last i checked, this was boxing, not wrestling. Benavidez was fighting 2 opponents in that football-stadium sized ring.
