I tnink the algorithm has him high as he beat Wlad who had a lot points, and is still unbeaten.si7dog7 wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 13:54100% agreepolecateddy wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 13:50 I think Boxrec should hear our cry, and move Fury down from number one to number two in the heavyweight rankings. Quite a weak resume for a number 1
Others down the list have an opponent list of much more depth.

Take your point but, Wlad was 39 years old. A champ in a pretty weak era also (however how long).jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 14:30I tnink the algorithm has him high as he beat Wlad who had a lot points, and is still unbeaten.si7dog7 wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 13:54100% agreepolecateddy wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 13:50 I think Boxrec should hear our cry, and move Fury down from number one to number two in the heavyweight rankings. Fury unbeaten since then versus a limited puncher (huge puncher) x 3, Del Boy, Otto and a Seferi brother. Oh yeah Dillian too.
Stellar.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - 29 April 2023?
It has been 8 years since he beat Wlad but after Fury/Wilder 2 they adjusted the algorithm specifically because he was still below Joshua and Wilder below Whyte and Ruiz(?). They also inflated Wilder's points through the adjustment of the algorithm, probably somehow giving more credit to his wins over Stiverne and Ortiz which is laughable. They adjusted how much the points dropped over time and his rating actually shot up after he beat Seferi. For everyone else it seems they drop significant amounts of points after lay offs but not Fury. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason they now hide the ratings.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 14:30I tnink the algorithm has him high as he beat Wlad who had a lot points, and is still unbeaten.si7dog7 wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 13:54100% agreepolecateddy wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 13:50 I think Boxrec should hear our cry, and move Fury down from number one to number two in the heavyweight rankings. Warren Has ‘No Problem’ Making Fury-Joshua
Here we go again. Warren now says he has no problem making the Fury-Joshua fight. So here's how it goes, Joshua wins next weekend, those negotiations start for a June fight, break down around May and we get Joyce-Fury and Joshua-Whyte.
You heard it here first.

I’m sure many would love that
99% not happening.

But a rematch and rematch clause
80/20 80/20 and 80/20
Sounds fair tbh

Don't get me wrong. I'm bang sick of Fury, I think he's a scab on the arse of boxing and his reign has been cack.si7dog7 wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 14:33Take your point but, Wlad was 39 years old. Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - 29 April 2023?
Fury is risk adverse. The problem for Fury is he will have to fight either Joyce, Usyk or AJ which are capable of beating him. Usyk is obviously the most dangerous to his record and he knows that, therefore he will swerve this fight at all costs. AJ is high risk, he probably doesn't want any of that. Joyce is medium risk so seems the logical move.
Fury v Joyce is up next.
Fury will cash out against Usyk I think. He has three fights tops left in him.

Usyk he's ducked ,,,
AJ well we don;t know if he ducked or not but he certainly messed AJ about negotiating for a fight he could'nt mAKE , ISSUING STUPID TIMELINES , he'll demand the lion share claiming he's got a belt , but knowing the ticket sales AJ will bring show double standards has we come to expect and price himself out .
Joyce well i think he'll know he won't hurt Joyce and dodge that one has well .
Lets Throw in Ruiz , he'll dodge that one he knows Ruiz has fast hands and leaning in on him will not faze him .
So whats that leave bugger all , so i officially call this thread dead , finished , kaput , lets leave him to his familly boar meat bbq's in morcombe and don't even mention his name again , put him right where he desrves to be in the history of boxing , forgoton

I kind of agree with you. All this talk of Fury v Joyce. I don’t believe Fury is up for that sort of challenge. Joyce is really on a roll. I can’t imagine Fury fancies that sort of war of attrition one bit. I think he’s sitting things out this year. Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - 29 April 2023?
After Fury v Wilder 2. Wilder dropped to about 5 or 6 on boxrec. A few days later they changed the algorithm and Wilder was #2. A consequence of this was it messed up all the other rankings. E.g. seeing Tank Davis ranked above Josh Taylor at Junior Welterweight. And other god awful "anomalies"jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 14:30I tnink the algorithm has him high as he beat Wlad who had a lot points, and is still unbeaten.si7dog7 wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 13:54100% agreepolecateddy wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 13:50 I think Boxrec should hear our cry, and move Fury down from number one to number two in the heavyweight rankings. Basically what I am saying is, Boxrec is fiddling their rankings. I think it's no coincidence that allegedly (edit: Why has the name FW of QP been replaced with "allegedly"?) used boxrec to justify Fury v Chisora...
So, on the one hand, I wouldn't get your hopes up of them putting Usyk at #1. On the other hand Boxrec has awful rankings, so what does it matter.
At least The Ring and TBRB took a stand on his second retirement and both now have Usyk as Heavyweight Champion.
You beat me to itjoshj909 wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 14:46 It has been 8 years since he beat Wlad but after Fury/Wilder 2 they adjusted the algorithm specifically because he was still below Joshua and Wilder below Whyte and Ruiz(?). Edit: it seems using FW by his full name is not allowed on this board haha. Kind of supports what I was saying above
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - 29 April 2023?
Talk of Joyce v Fury is just a distraction. To try build Fury into this fearless real fighting man rubbish after his recent duck and social media turning on him.
I'm sure fWank would love to make AJ v Fury in a heartbeat .. but if AJ looks anything more than 60% of his usual self in his next fight then Fury will duck that too.
I think Fury claims to retire soon to be able to sit out this year and wait for a big money one off fight early next year.
It was always predictable Fury would implode. Way too much hype and he was/is never clever enough to stay within the limits of his true worth.
Good riddance to him![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)

Usyk can't be #1 too. Winning Joshua and Chisora isn't enough. Fury's resume is better, since he has Klitschko, Wilder, Whyte, Chisora, Wallin.polecateddy wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 13:50 I think Boxrec should hear our cry, and move Fury down from number one to number two in the heavyweight rankings. Even if Fury contributed more to the fall of the negotiations, he can't be automatically pulled down in the rankings. He was favored to win and he will be until he performs worse than Usyk in the future or loses to him. If Fury fights Joyce, when Usyk fights Dub, Fury's resume still will be improving over Usyk's.

But he hasn’t imploded. He’s lost a lot of fans, yes, but he’s still got a lot more than he did post Wlad. He’s also loaded, unbeaten and still champ. Disagree with talk of fury -Joyce being a distraction rather than build him back up to the fearless fighting man , it will just strenghten his duck resume , because i honestly think Fury will dodge Joyce just has much has Usykmickey1975 wrote: ↑27 Mar 2023, 05:33But he hasn’t imploded.
