Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Jermaine Franklin | DAZN - 1 April 2023
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Jermaine Franklin | DAZN - 1 April 2023
Aj did ok and Franklin clearly has a chin. Aj did still look a bit gunshy tho. He has been since the first Ruiz fight.

He’s in his mid 40’s. Proper midlife crisis. Lost a lot of timber though fair play.

It's fckin shocking. Too many ball lickers around him, a true mate would sit him down and say, fella, you look fooking stupid wearing that get up, you look like Mr Benn after a wardrobe accident or a 15 year old who lets him mum dress him for his first night out

On that performance I’m confident that Joyce is the best in the UK. I don’t want to see whyte fight Joshua it should be Fury next. AJ look shot to pieces to me

josh isnt shot to pieces, he's still a handy fighter with a lot of gifts. easily a top hw still. what's more noticable though is how much more tentative he was, it was like one of wlad's labouring jab and grab fests. he seemed to pull his shots more than usual too. had the mindset of a guy totally satisfied with winning on points and doing just the minimum to shade rounds, whereas he used to be out to smash

Fury and Joyce stop AJ fairly easy now.

Whiff of desperation from AJ calling for Fury..I think he's cashed out mentally. Must know he's got almost zero chance.

He's Wlad lite. Wlad eventually bashed up his opponents.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑01 Apr 2023, 19:00 josh isnt shot to pieces, he's still a handy fighter with a lot of gifts. easily a top hw still. what's more noticable though is how much more tentative he was, it was like one of wlad's labouring jab and grab fests. he seemed to pull his shots more than usual too. had the mindset of a guy totally satisfied with winning on points and doing just the minimum to shade rounds, whereas he used to be out to smash

They seriously need to stop putting him in with these short guys. If they want him to look good, get a big stiff European fighter so we can build the fury fight properly!

Get him in with Joyce. Most exciting all British Heavyweight fight out there.

With DDD going for it, and AJ gunshy, I can definitely see DDD knocking him out.
Heck, I rate DDD's powa over Fat Andy.

ddd was bounced off the canvas by kev lerena, i wouldnt be so confident he runs through aj
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Jermaine Franklin | DAZN - 1 April 2023
Agreed, I believe he would have looked much better against someone like Hrgovic.
He has always struggled to look good against shorter opponents. Baktov, Takam, obviously Ruiz (both fights).
Couple that with the fact that his new trainer seems to want him to get back to basics, it had the makings of an ugly, boring, 12 round victory.
All in all I think he boxed well and the scorecards were about right, but people aren't going to be shaking in their boots at the prospect of facing him next.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Jermaine Franklin | DAZN - 1 April 2023
Fat Andy's powaa!! Wasn't the problem per se, it was the awkward angle he threw shots from on the inside that did for Joshua, very few heavyweights do what Andy does.
DDD has a good shot on him, but would offer nothing AJ hasn't seen before.

Posted it before , he CAN'T THINK FOR HIMSELF , he follows instructions to the letter thats obvious when you have a short guy coming in low in a straight line , its just basics you time him with an upercut , AJ had TO BE TOLD , when he was told he done it ,, other than that it was just simply jab and defend ,, i think his team know he's mentaly fragile and instruct him to box to survive , he looked at his best when he , just simply got cornered and fought back , and the very rare ocasion he actually went for it , guys got know chance against Fury or Joyce .
And too be honest a year or two back i would of backed him against either
