This month's bout will be Joyce's sixth bout in the 2020's. Ruiz has had 2.

I don’t understand why anyone would care about Andy Ruiz over Joyce?
Mind you most of the people on this particular website are British, so of course you're going to go on about Joe Joyce more than you would Andy Ruiz. Unfortunately Tyson Fury can't fight in America otherwise I'm pretty sure he would have been fighting Andy Ruiz by now because cinco DE Mayo is around the corner.

Fighting a man who was at 1 point the unified champion and bowled over Joshua might not be a big fight in comparison to undisputed or even with Joshua but it would still be a big fight. Joe Joyce would only be big in the United Kingdom.
I wouldn't be surprised if Joyce could beat Ruiz.

As of now though, you're correct that Ruiz would be the bigger scalp for the time being.
I.ve said on here numerous times , Ruiz beats Fury i'll stand by that , one big powerhouse swing is'nt going to beat him , hence Wilder has'nt and would lose 9 out of 10 the 10th landing that hail Mary .. Joyce will not beat him too slow be an edge of the seat fight though . But i would but a bet although a small bet on Tyson winning

Ruiz well he's diferent he has a chin , can't see Fury stopping him , he has a good dig on him and counter punches very well , but most of all he has fast hands he will land ,, he's smaller but yet heavy enough and clever enough if Fury chose to hold and grab it will not faze him he'll still get his hands in on Fury who has'nt excatly got the best chin in the world and i don't think Fury has the dangerous power that AJ has to scare him off ,

No for me styles make fights and Ruiz style will beat Fury , thats why i'm convinced Fury has never had any previous interest in Ruiz and never will

fury is all wrong for ruiz, it would be a 12-0 cakewalk

even when aj decided to box long and measured he did pretty much just that. some jab, moving, and length shut andy down. his plodding and trex arms means he needs you to be right there with him.

Joyce probably could. Both have great chins, good engines, and good skills. The main difference be height and reach differentials. Joyce is just so slow, that I could see Ruiz winning a lot of exchanges but since Joyce hits harder Ruiz would probably fade in the late rounds.

He does. He's gone the distance on a few occasions. Parker, Arreola, Ortiz, Joshua come to mind. He's a long distance fighter, though he's ended fights early most of his career.

ever distance fight he's had he's ended huffing and puffing and slowed up considerably in the second half, his stamina is average at best. maybe it seems above average because he's so fat that you expect him to tire super early

I rewatched Joyce against Usyk in the amateurs again. Joyce does look awful in that fight, but fair play he has improved whereas I suppose more or less Usyk has just maintained his level from the amateurs. I’d wager Joyce is a Matthew Saad Muhammad fan, who was another fighter who switched from trying to be a neat boxer to just being a bulldozer.

As someone who feels Fury is overrated (particularly when compared with actual heavyweight greats from the past), you’d have to be on some sort of wind up to predict Andy Ruiz troubling him.

In this age of super heavyweights most of those guys are breathing heavy by the later rounds anyways. What I am meaning is that he is somebody basically dangerous from round one to round twelve. He can go long distance in matches, he's just not going to be as strong cardio wise like heavyweights from the 90s and prior where they were much smaller.

Not really smaller guys have given Fury problems before , and this is a smaller guy with fast hands and a good dig on him . Mind you i am sumizing for something that big Ruiz would lay of the mars bars and take his training serious , if he did'nt well its a walk in the park for Fury , But anyway it won't happen Fury has shown NO INTEREST in Ruiz at all

I think Ruiz would do well to win 2 rounds against Fury.

I can't see Fury stopping him, but I doubt very much he'll need to. I fully expect he'd outbox him with ease.

His Dad and Brother have talked about the Ruiz fight. Tyson's talked about it in the past, says he could tie 1 arm hehind his back and jab his head off all night long. Think they fancy that 1 as an easy payday.

Yes But Tyson also says he would hammer that gapped toothed middleweight called Usyk ,, he said he would murder that big stiff bodybuilder AJ , he said Joyce is good but not ready for himself ,, BUT YET SEEMS TO AVOID FIGHTING ANY OFF THEM

Sad that boxing has got to the point, where there's more time talking about who Fury may or may not fight, than actually talking about his fights.

I would settle for anybody notable fighting Joyce right now.

That could be a very very entertaining fight though, could be one where Joyce ends up with Brain damage even if he wins.

I think most professional boxers end up with brain damage. Isn’t that a given? I don’t think you’d necessarily want to be 50 years old and have the brain of Joyce, who has no doubt not gotten out the way of countless heavyweight punches from 2012 to whenever he finishes, say 2026. 14 years of punishment.

No, it's not a given really, many professional fighters remain lucid and cogent well into their latter years, it's pot luck to a degree.

Yes, but sometimes it's accelerated greatly after a single fight.

Ike Ibeabuchi apparently started hearing voices and hallucinating after the Tua fight, one in which he took a tonne of heavy punishment in a gruelling distance fight. He went mental shortly after.

Well are we going to discuss Chisora 3, or Whyte?
He hasn't had a fight worth discussing or watching in a few years. I didn't even watch highlights of the 3rd Chisora fight. I got a life

Some great posts highlighting the fact that Team Fury is far from perfect.

I am totally convinced the alledged cracks within the inner circle of TeamFury spells the end.

The entourage is that big theres bound to be divisions.

Fury will get p*ssed off with it and will retire.

It’s not really ‘retiring,’ more just a year out. The reality has got to be with a baby on the way and a highly mobile/skilled Ukrainian on the loose, for a fighter worried about losing it seems kind of wise to see if the main players around him might get old overnight. Usyk can’t have that long left now.
