Personally I don't think the forum is 'stagnant', due to Twitter or because we are addicted to schadenfreude. Its more his other point, that the promoters, fighters, fans and media outlets have fully indulged 'beef', wwe-style histrionics, celebrating fighters earnings over sporting merit, multiple fractured championships, YouTubers, weight jumping, TUE's/doping, sports washing, waiting for rivals to age out etc.
Turns off the people who would otherwise like to 'go deeper' on the sport. Perhaps it's just that we get to know all the above now through the net? Less mystique and see through a lot of the cynical stuff that has always gone on.
