As someone once said, if you're not cheating, you're not trying. That's how it would appear for the vast majority of title holders these days.
Ingle is right to question the timing of this failure but he should know that it's only the B list fighters that get caught.
If an A lister gets caught, step forward Mr Mayweather, Mr Alvarez and back then in 2015 the future A lister Mr Fury, then it's easy enough for them to wriggle out.
In Fury's case he was allowed to go ahead and fight Klitschko even a year after it was known he had failed a test for nandrolone.
Wladimir Klitschko wasn't even informed because puny UKAD didn't have the clout. In the end it was Fury who was threatening UKAD.
In Canelo's case we saw virtually the entire boxing establishment prepared to get down on its knees and apologize to the great Saul for causing him such embarrassment as failing for clenbuterol. Canelo's quip about contaminated mexican beef was readily accepted and never challenged again.
Ingle's not stupid, he knows fully well that Khan's been fingered as little more than a token gesture for those few fans who still care whether this sport is clean.
It isn't.
It's high time they legalised PED use or relaxed the allowed limits enough to remove any doubt.
Just in case there are still some suckers out there fighting clean.
