One of the very very best - just a shame really he was in such a small weight class - but he needs to be discussed much more about whether he could be in the top 5 greatest fighters of the last 30 years.

He had something of the Ivan Drago about him - massive for his weight.

Last year I watched his fight with Israel Contreras(very underrated Venezuelan champion with knockout wins over prime Wilfredo Vásquez and Luisito Espinosa) and after a tough first 1 or 2 rounds he just absolutely cuts through Contreras. Sometimes you hear the idea that he was just making do-busy defenses against low quality opposition and I’ll just say no he was the real deal.

Maybe some people confuse him with Samson Dutch Boy Gym, who made a million WBF title defenses, mostly against shite opposition. Galaxy was definitely the real thing and his opposition for the most part was good
