Hearn is a liar but it's not up for debate that Wilder and Fury both turned down offers to fight Joshua, it's fact, are you in denial about that ?? Wilder admitted it and we don't have to go into details about how Fury shat the bed, Wilder turned it down and has admitted it, there's no grey area here, why use John Fury as an example of a liar when you've got Tyson right there??
Didn't he turn one down with proof of funds? Look at his matchmaking. It is horrendous. Only two good fighters out there in his prime and he fought neither.
Usyk not a good a fighter?
Oh yes, but i never believed they wanted him and thought they would probably get away with it by being too big. Anyway, i'm taking a break from the heavyweight conversation for a bit until they actually fight, it's putting me off the sport.

Usyk certainly has Tyson Fury convinced he is a good fighter .. good enough for Fury to duck anyways.

His footwork is awful, his stance is so wide, everything bar his hands is so slow. He's no natural ability to ride or slip punches, he ate loads of right hands that seemed so obvious where they were coming from, if Franklin could bang he'd have had AJ out of there.

Joshua would be best just sticking to bowling over no-hopers to keep his UnderArmour & Lynx deals on the table for now, then hang them up.

In years to come he'll be fondly remembered as the guy who asked the Saudi Arabians for 3 hiphip hoorays but then giving them 5 hiphip hoorays.
Should you even be on a boxing forum posting crap like this? I never see football fans saying World Cup winners don't know how to kick a ball.

I'm not AJs biggest fan but please keep it in perspective and, as Ron Mac would say, do not divest your opinion from reality!

Maybe you would if there were 4 different World Cups and to win one of them you only had to beat Charles Martin

Went to this fight, first live show I've been to since Fury v Parker.

One thing I noticed with AJ he didn't go to the body a lot. I was expecting a different AJ but nothing really changed. His fighting life is coming to an end maybe 2 fights left.

I agree, the fire has gone out - he's become too gunshy now to really go for it, he's like Wlad was after his beatings, except that Wlad was a much better boxer, and was still able to bash people up, even being extremely cautious.

The beating he got from Ruiz has ruined him. Every time he fights anyone I think that's all he sees in front of him, Ruiz.

If Fury had any sense he would be offering him a shot at the WBC I think AJ would take an offer of 80/20!

Fury ain’t taking that fight
Vis a vis Usyk

Smoke and mirrors

Sorry to shatter that illusion.

Fury climbed the mountain v Wlad. Disappeared.
Beat Wilder 2.5 times. (Not a great boxer and forget the best puncher in the world fugazi). Than the rabbit in the headlights Dillion.

He won’t fight Usyk or AJ. Too much risk

It must be tough for the likes of Bruno to watch this set of heavyweights. Bruno would have put a jab on Joshua/Whyte etc and got them out of there. He'd struggle with the toughness of Joyce but I'd have him beating Dubois by KO too. He doesn't get enough respect for me. Joshua is not on his level at all but the majority of fight fans would have Joshua above him.

So John Ruiz would have beaten him, too? I understand people being down on him at the moment but this is just stupid. He’s scared of his own shadow according to everyone on here. You all sound mental.

We have had this discussion - nobody is saying Fury is scared; .. just saying he won`t take risks fighting against the better heavyweights in his division. There is proof to this .. Aj and Usyk in the last 6mths.

Nobody has said Fury is scared of his own shadow once - so bit mental saying everyone here is saying it ... Mick, I think you dug a similar hole previously saying people said he was `petrified hundreds of times`

AJ is top 5. He faced clearly the number one in Wlad and at least the no 2 at the time in Wilder in their home countries. But won't face better Heavies? Please name those better than Wlad at the time. Or Wilder for that matter.

I think you are vastly overrating Bruno.

Bruno would never have beaten the likes of Wlad in the first place, he'd have been battered senseless.

Bruno was stiff and robotic and couldn't adapt. He had a good jab and a thunderous punch, but he was as mobile as an oak tree, and had poor stamina, and even worse recovery when hurt.

Let's stay within the confines of reality.

Joshua is a better fighter than Bruno ever was.

The way he's been lately, I think it would have depended on whether Fury believed John Ruiz would have beat him, rather than what anyone else thinks.

Ah, right, well that's pretty fcking stupid. Ruiz was shite, of course Fury would have beaten him. He would have absolutely battered Bruno too.

He has his shortcomings, but big lumps like Bruno will little movement are tailor made for Fury. It's speed her struggles with, which is one of the reasons Wilder had success.

I don't think Ruiz beats Fury. The only guy in the current crop I believe can give Fury a decent fight is Joyce.

I've never been a fan of Fury really but he doesn't seem to want to fight anyone.

Maybe a bit of confusion in these replies.

I'll stand by original comment 20 years ago Fury wouldn't have been a world champ thought.

Fury beats Andy Ruiz imo. Joyce is the only one who will give a decent account.

I don't feel Andy Ruiz would beat Fury .. I think it's an easy night for Fury. A hesitant AJ outboxed him quite easily so nothing to suggest Fury would struggle.

Wlad and the first Wilder fight was a few years ago now .. we talking about the 2023 Fury not wanting to face the top guys in the division; that said .. he didn't rematch Wlad did he :shame:

Fury could have forgotten ght both AJ and Usyk within the last 6 MTHS .. but negotiated himself out of it with both; we know this is true.

No, WE don't. But that's been done to death. I don't know why everyone keeps going on about Andy Ruiz, I clearly meant John. The 2023 Fury will box and comfortably beat either Usyk or AJ this year, and i expect all the regulars to start backtracking again saying 'oh, i never said he'd lose' like they were doing when it looked like it was made for April.

The dossers!!!!!
Once apon a time I would agree with you. Fury beats AJ not so sure about Usyk though. In all honesty Fury doesn't want to fight anyone. 20 years ago Fury would never have become world champion.
So John Ruiz would have beaten him, too? I understand people being down on him at the moment but this is just stupid. He’s scared of his own shadow according to everyone on here. You all sound mental.
Couldn't agree more.
