It's a test that was done after the fight?

What can really be done at this stage?

He'd not even been given a fine, just a 2 year ban from ALL sports.. Which seems a bit useless..
The amount of tests passed before the failure is totally irrelevant
Reason i mentioned them was, the test that he failed was taken after the fight I take it?

I fear nothing further will be done about this.

Tarnished legacy career, shame it was right at the end of his career.

Eddie Hearn Says ‘A Lot Of People Knew’ About Amir Khan’s Failed Test

“I’ll just keep it real. I didn’t know, but I know a lot of people involved with that fight knew.

And when I say ‘knew’, there’s a difference between receiving correspondence from UKAD or knowing, hearing that it’s happened. And people from the promotion, the broadcast, certainly the British Boxing Board of Control, they knew about that situation.”

Shameless.
Even a broken clocks right twice a day, the BBBC/UKAD procedure is a shambles, I still maintain Robert Smith is getting off far too lightly with the Benn situation, it's them and them only who are supposed to govern the sport, don't be blaming fighters or promoters for trying to be sneaky

Smith can whinge all he wants about having a look to make changes but he's full of sh1t, Fury got to fight Klitschko after popping and no doubt Khan would've got to rematch Brook if he chose to despite failing a test, let's no forget him continuously turning a blind eye to his refs and judges repeatedly bungling, they need put out in the trash

I think Eddie was always going to be all over this. More deflection.

It just shows though that the current process isn’t fit for purpose. If Khan had won the fight then it would have been 14 months of Brook being thinking he’d lost the biggest fight of his career. Now, and I’d imagine most people would agree, Khan should be stripped of a good chunk of his purse with some/all of it going to Brook. Of course there won’t be any guidelines as to what will happen.

We had Fury against Hammer where Fury tested positive post fight (I think). However the sample wasn’t actually tested/results revealed until after the Klitschko fight as UKAD had a backlog. Crazy!

We had the Dillian Whyte fight where he it was identified he had a positive UKAD test in fight week. They had a meeting about it and allowed the fight to happen without telling the opponent. It was then leaked to the press post fight and about 5 months later the charge against Whyte was dropped.

Benn fails 2 VADA tests and it takes the board 5 weeks to action anything. They then decide to fine Benn c.£100k with actions surrounding it despite no one actually making a ruling on the drugs tests. I still maintain the board should have cancelled the fight as soon as the first failure was reported.

Now the Khan fight where it’s 14 months post fight for the opponent/promoter to find out. Khan’s rightly got a ban. Where’s his fine for him actually being found guilty?

And we had Liam Cameron who got 4 years for a bit of coke and not having a good lawyer.

I don’t think Robert Smith is fit to run British Boxing at the moment and the procedures/rules etc. surrounding drug testing and punishments is essentially worthless.

Shouldn’t he be adopting his Conor Benn stance? ‘Well there’s a lot of contamination issues with those labs!’ Or whatever!

Whilst i agree with the ban for “liability” I find it a
Mystery why Benn wont receive the same.

Perhaps Khan doesnt feel he has to fight it because he has made his money and is retired

Khan has faced up

Benn is hiding behind his “document”, that no one else can see.

Gives up license voluntarily. The board can do one.

Guilty I’m afraid but I hope I’m wrong. 🤐

Whole episode stinks

Now WBC ranked 6 now? Put this guy in with a live one and test him every blooming day.
Nah he wants Kell, Paq or Chris Jr. Shooting for the stars then. Lol.
It’s all a cash grab.

Almost feels like ukad/bbboc were willing to drop this due to khan retiring… but then figured getting a lil strict liability ban out in the public will help them get benn even if he weezles…

In the talkSPORT interview Khan does seem mixed up with the dates.- at one part he said the fight was last April, then it was 2 years ago (both wrong).

So what do we think is more likely?

Khan who had announced he was fighting on after the Brook fight suddenly changed his mind in April 2022 & retired & then found out he was positive October / November time

Or

Khan who had announced he was fighting on after the Brook fight changed his mind and retired in April 2022 after he was told by UKAD he had failed a drugs test

I know who I believe and it’s not Khan. At this stage he’ll do all he can to save his reputation so he can still be a media darling & go on shows like I’m a celebrity.

Without looking into it closely, think I believe Khan.

Don’t know why - always had a blind spot where he’s concerned!!

Sounds terrible to say, but you must be a bit soft in the head not to be at it (to some degree) at that level.

People are making out that it won’t affect Khan because he is retired, but it’s not just boxing it’s ALL sport.
What happens if he gets mugged again? He’s not even allowed to run away.

Khan saying he was taking 20 different vitamins...

seems like a classic move from a drug cheat, take 20 vitimans so you can muddy the water with contamination if you get caught.

Or the worlds dumbest move exposing yourself to potential contamination 20 times for fornicating vitimins, your rich, just eat well.
