Mick H is so passionate about boxing.
I think he has had an undeserved rough time. He built up Tyson & Carl Froch … and just when he could make some decent money on the back of their success they left.

Mick was very straight and if he thought you were a c**t he told you. My

Therein was his downfall.
Spud. You was about at the time

I know David Walker was fast tracked (Jimmy Vincent etc) but do you think the Roman Karmazin bout was too early for him and maybe, just maybe derailed the future. Always thought David was a real entertainer
I remember mick telling me about the Roman Karmazin fight.

It was considered by the whole team as an opportunity not to be missed but it was acknowledged a tough assignment.

I remember Robert McCracken threw the towel
and did not let him take too much of a beating.
Yes. Rob did well, very well there.
This was David’s ceiling
A great fighter though. Saw him in some great bouts.

Frostie,

You reminded me of the fantastic atmosphere created by the millwall supporters. Mick sorted ringside seats for the leaders.

I remember doing my normal whipping job and walking Karmazin to the ring … I was called a russian c*nt.

I then remember Robert McCracken throwing in the towel it was the correct thing to do but it went nuts ringside … I remember telling a bloke to “f*c K ing sit down” I was dead proud of myself because he did straight away.

It wasnt until the end of the night until the bloke who I told to sit down beckoned me over, he said I had balls but then proceeded to say “if you ever speak to me like that again, you will be found at the bottom of the Thames” I absolutely sh*t myself.

My overriding memories are Dave walking out to ‘In the Air Tonight,’ the rapid realisation of how good Karmazin was and the flat feeling around the camp afterward.

Name one … to the rest of the forum?

I will start with David Haye
Which promoter are you crediting with this?

That was good management rather than good promotion in my opinion.

In hindsight I think you’re right I bow to your superior knowledge… other than the Thompson fight you have to say they took the right fights at the right time.

Seems like there's too many TV promoters these days. Each will all grab the decent uk fighters, less chance of uk domestic fighters fighting each other unless in the same TV channel. could argue its always been like that but seems more so these days.
