Thomas "Cornflake" LaMana is pretty good. As was Jerry "Wimpy" Halstead.
Nicolino Locche had one of the most accurate nicknames: El Intocable (The untouchable)

It's difficult to say what's the best. There's been plenty of memorable ones, but I love this thread.

'The Greatest' because he proved he was, and besides it was better than the 'Louisville Lip'.

'Smokin' Joe Frazier because that's how he always fought.

'Iron' Mike Tyson. No one else could have carried that one off.

Juan 'the Hammer' Roldan who famously fought
Thomas 'the Hit Man' Hearns

Dr Ironfist - Vitali Klitschko and Dr Steelhammer - Wladimir Klitschko were both well named if they connected.

John 'the Beast' Mugabe was indeed fearsome, until he met the 'Marvelous' one.

Julian 'the Hawk' Jackson who almost always got his man.

'King' Arthur Abraham who should have ruled longer.

Don 'the Cobra' Curry was noted for his speed, especially when he fought Milt 'the Stilt' McCrory.

'Sugar' Ray Leonard, the only other one who could follow the original 'Sugar' Ray Leonard

The best current nickname might be the perfectly described Joe 'the Juggernaut' Joyce who's got an interesting fight coming up this Saturday against the deceptively dangerous Zhilei Zhang.

[There's also the 'Gypsy King' but the less said about him the better]

Perhaps we could also give a mention to the likes of 'Granpa' Bob Arum and 'Fast Eddie' Hearn? Both still there duckin' an diving and surviving after all these years.

James 'Lights Out' Toney
Glen 'The Road Warrior' Johnson
Julius 'The Towering Inferno' Long

and, to venture into the bizarre for the moment, that journeyman American heavyweight with the moniker 'The Southern Disaster'

Always liked "Desert Storm" Bradley.

We also need an unofficial British Vegan Championship between...

Lee "The Violent Vegan" Connelly vs Jack "No Beef" O'Keefe.

Both very imaginative and fun. Make it happen Eddie...! :box:

Well actually there is a story. When I was a kid I was a camp counselor for 5 year olds. When I wrote out my name tag I thought it would be better to be Dougie than Doug since they were all so little and Doug sounded a bit harsh.

Anyway, my handwriting isn't so good and this little bookworm walks up to me the first day and says, "Oogie?...what's an oogie?" My friends over heard and the name stuck ever since.

Nice story but oogiebe is the sweaty residue you find between your ballsack and rectum. Also referred to as gooch juice.
