Quality of opposition is the litmus test.

DDD is way behind AJ when you measure the standard of opposition they've faced....as an argument it doesn't even get off the ground.

Forget sparring. Putting your power into action on the night is what counts.

At 25 maybe Dubois can make his case in the years to come, but here & now, AJ's results and stoppages overshadow anything DDD has achieved.

Agreed. After 20 wins, Joshua had 20 T/KOs which included Klitschko, Takam, Whyte and Kevin Johnson among others. In his first 20 wins, Dubois has no notable KOs or notable wins for that matter. Not to say he can't win or hit hard, but based on what we've seen he has proven absolutely nothing. It's easy to hit someone hard when there's not much of a threat of them hitting you back.

And don't forget, hitting hard isn't difficult, landing punches is the problem

If Joe '30Hz' Joyce can land his jab so constantly on DDD's static face to force a stoppage, then Usyk will be peppering him with jabs and follow up lefts. Dubois just seems a bit passive in his mentality and output most of the time.

as for sparring, tommy fury's sparring power was getting hyped up too, there were guys saying theyd never felt anything like it
Ok, it’s not an actual fight (apart from Joyce) but how you can just disregard the opinions of guys like
Joyce, Okolie, Adeleye etc who have spared/spent a lot of time in training with both AJ and Dubois and all say DDD is the harder puncher is a bit silly IMO.

Even Joyce with his granite chin knew not to play about with Daniels power and peppered him behind the jab instead.

Yes, AJ made quick work of Johnson, but it’s not a video game. As I suggested, AJ has/had the much quicker hands and better combos which was probably better suited to getting rid of Johnson who is good at riding/parrying attacks.

Honest question, Mags. Do you speak to many pro boxers? You seem to dispute everything any of them says. Have you had a bad experience of them lying to you?
Also, I am pretty sure AJ V KJ was fixed. I even won money on an early stoppage. The narrative was always going to be could he stop the unstoppable? It created the false image of this destroyer. Worked well for them too.
like the pro boxers such as lyndon arthur who said tommy fury hit them harder than anything they've experienced? nah havent spoken to them

lyndon arthur said tommy fury hit him harder than anyone ever has. tommy as a boy ktfo grown heavyweights, etc. sparing shmaring. not to mention, aj is supposed to be some sparring wuss who gets ko'd every spar isnt he......everyone seems to have dropped his arse in the gym!

look at what's actually happened on fight night. aj has stopped far better opponents, and obliterated a guy who dubs couuldnt even put down over the 10 round distance, despite dubs hitting him plenty. dubois hasnt stopped anyone joshua wouldnt have. not a much harder hitter at all.

He won’t fight there as the Fury family already has Tyson and Paris up at heavy.

Any idea where we expect this to land? The fight surely won't end up on some stadium ?

I do think they should do more events at RAH.

This will probably end up at 02 Arena.

I read somewhere in order to be able book RAH these days, there needs to be a charitable element to the event.

Usyk-Dubois would sell out the 02 by fight night.

I think the tickets would have to be priced reasonably to sell at the O2.

I also wonder if it’s a formality that Frank actually does the show. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if it goes to purse bids.

I’m sure they would but team Usyk will want to be well paid as they’ll likely have 75% of any purse split.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if Eddie’s telling Krassyuk how much he’d bid for it and that he’d stage it in Abu Dhabi i.E. neutral territory.

So Team Usyk play hardball with the free negotiation period. Then purse bids and BT will likely bid for it.

No doubt Matchroom will bid for it as well.

Watch we get a surprise $10m bid for Don King. :oo

Apparently he's been cleared to fight but it seems to me that others in the industry have alluded to being ready to pounce if he's somehow not ready. They kept mentioning it last night with Bakole.
