I bet on Zhang to win in rounds 1-6 at 20/1. Zhang is an upset waiting to happen and I will bet on him causing that upset until it does happen

I think Linardatou is a live underdog at around 5/1 also.
You really think she can beat the 'horse-faced Karen" !?
Seriously, tho' why...?
Quite simply because she won a split decision over Baumgardner who just won a split decision over Karen. Whether either were robberies I wouldn't try to argue but she was able to be atleast competitive with someone who was competitive with Mayer. It's not that I think she should be favourite, it's that I don't think the betting odds reflect the actual odds. I've not put a lot on it
:TU:
Yeah HFK moving up while Cl is moving down too.

Nope. Looks like a section has either been closed off or all the tickets are with undercard fighters.

It’s a tough environment now for tickets - it’s a good fight and still struggles.

I hope the venue sells out and they get a great viewing audience for this fight.

Both fighters deserve huge respect for taking this fight, as do the promoters for putting it on. It grieves me that events like Misfits evenings are taking money away from the pot for great fights like this one.

I hope both Joyce Zhang come through it unscathed. I think it is going to be a tough, tough encounter.

Unless Joyce gets caught cold in round one - which is always possible - I’d think it will be a pretty standard wear you down in 7 to 9 to round’s type performance. Hrgovic In the last fight look very weak and an arm-puncher. Joyce will be much more forceful with the Chinese slugger.

I've nothing but admiration for Joyce and Zhang :salut:

They both know they are in for a hard night and prepared to fight anyone for their chance of a world title shot (and one assumes they are being well paid).

Joyce showed against Dubois he could box safely and to orders and slowly breakdown an opponent. I expect he will do the same this weekend.

He doesn’t need to go out there and showcase his chin .. keep it smart and safe :)

Zhang is especially dangerous for the first three rounds. After that it should be Joyce. Joyce is rightfully a big favourite. Considering Joyce has been showing an iron chin you have to assume he will make it out of those rounds. Zhang being a skilled southpaw makes it very interesting because you have to expect him to land some haymakers. Joyce will just jab and keep it simple for the first few rounds unless he gets hurt, in which case he will probably get taken out by shots he doesn't see coming from the southpaw stance. I definitely see a hairy moment or two but Zhang has shown some stamina issues. Zhang has great heart and always made it the distance no matter how tired he was and he will need ordinarily need to be nailed to the canvas but a British stoppage is likely to happen.

I don't know much about Zhang but the only two names on his record I recognise are Jerry Forest (D10) and Hrgovic (LPTS12). Seems similar to Joyce in as much as wins fights through sheer size and strength, not much finesse. I expect Joyce to outwork him and wear him down.

Worth watching the short highlights for both fights. He arguably won them both (I had him beating Hrgovic while the Forrest fight was three dominant rounds followed by him surviving for the remainder of the fight so was a weird one). Zhang has good combinations and power but his stamina and possibly his defence are the things that ultimately let him down. He's not getting any younger either.

Yeah nothing spectacular about him, just a big lump who can give and take punishment. Unless Joyce suddenly losses his ability to take a punch I just see Joyce's better engine winning it for him.

Zhang looks less polished than joyce, and looks wide open to be hit.

I think he will take a beating before getting stopped in the last 3rd. Could be a brutal one this, cannot see him getting out of the way of Joyce's shots.
