DeGale v Groves was about 600k 12 years ago. Just shows how far it’s fallen.
Crikey. A £600k purse for a main event and Frank still decided to go PPV.
More or less sold out as well, I went.
So it didn’t sell out.

Groves degale was a dud of a fight but the entire event and build up had that big fight feel. It's rare to get that amount of genuine dislike in a fight. We should know, we get fed garbage week in week out

“ The fornicating disrespect. All this queue jumping & favouritism. I can’t wait around months and possibly next year for the British title shot it doesn’t make sense. They can keep the belt, I’ll go down a different route 🖕🏾

I’m beginning to really like Wardley. His stuff on social with Clarke and Adeleye has been funny.

Who sent it ? Who is it about ? Was it Wardley ? :maybe:
Even assuming it's Wardley I can't work out whether he's been super fun or ducking ? :maybe:

I think I@m starting to love Warley like Mav23 and most on here, if he's trolling everyone and really up for Clarke. I hope so.

It sold a lot more than a lot of 'sold out' events I've been to.

Wardley didn't look great in his last fight and the stoppage was laughable. Looked like he was running out of ideas on was getting tagged.

Clarke should stop him mid rounds

Clarke surely has to be a significant favourite.

Gorman’s capitulation and then the ridiculous stoppage last time out, have likely robbed Wardley of some much needed experience in overcoming something difficult.

veriton wrote: 13 Apr 2023, 12:49 You're more optimistic than me. Wardley is now 14th in the world according to the WBA so I think he ditches the British, chews up another non-descript foreigner and then cashes his chips in against, say, someone like Jarrell Miller.
nope
he wants the lonsdale :yay:

Cant help but feel Adelye is ducking Soko. No way he won that fight, should have been a rematch by now.

Not sold on either lad at all. I think, as Brits, we were spoilt by having Joshua and then Joyce in succession at the Olympics… very hard acts to follow.

However, Clarke should beat Wardley, who i reckon will fold if he’s in an actual real fight where the ref doesn’t jump in when the opponent starts showing any sign of trouble

Adeleye’s moaning makes no sense. The board decided on Clarke and he’s moaning to Wardley about queue jumping as if Wardley has some sort of a say.

You could see Adeleye didn’t want it anyway. He was already laying the ‘come to BT’ bullshit knowing that would be enough to make sure it didn’t happen.

Wasn't it meant to be the main support and upgraded to main event when the original main event fell apart ?

i tried searching for Fury Chisora 1 purse bids. I'm almost certain Hennessy won it and was over 100k, but couldn't find it on Google.
