Bantamweights: Carlos Zarate vs Ruben Olivares

Post by elmersalsa »

Who wins this explosive Bantamweight match, and why?

To me, this fight ain't going to the limit of 15 rounds. Too much dynamite in both fighters hands.

I'm taking Zarate to stop him late-his height and reach are the deciding factors for me. A great, great mythical match !

I agree. This fight would be just like Zarate vs Alfonso Zamora fight, but with more excitement and more rounds.

The great Ruben Olivares was a beast at Bantamweight in his prime. But, he never fought someone of Zarate's caliber.

I would pick the great Carlos Zarate as well.

I'd take Zarate too. These are 2 names that would be in an all time Bantamweight Tournament for sure.

And this is potentially one of the most exciting possible matchups ever in the history of the Bantamweight division.

It not going the distance is almost a given. Wow! Potentially the greatest bantamweight fight imaginable.

I'm leaning towards Zarate. His height, punching power, and skill probably give him the upper-hand against Olivares.

But that's just a guess on my part.

I am not convinced it for sure wouldn’t go the distance. Both guys had great stamina and shock absorbers, the Gomez v Zárate fight aside, and threw meaningful punches every round. I could see either guy winning a close decision or via late stoppage.
