joshj909 wrote: 10 Apr 2023, 07:31 Could be about time to vote on droping a few of the old/inactive names. For me it would be Ortiz and Pulev and it seems others also want Chisora out (his activity and win over Pulev just keeps him in for me).

Pulev - Inactive for 9 months. Since the beginning of 2020, he is 1-2 with a win over Forrest 11 months ago and a loss over Chisora 9 months ago plus the loss to Joshua.

Ortiz - Inactive for 7 months. Since the beginning of 2020, he is 2-1 with a loss to Ruiz Sep 2022 and wins over Charles Martin and Alexander Flores before that. Although his win over Martin was not seen as great at the time, it was respectable. Since Kownacki has been demolished by fringe top 15 opponents, I guess that also reflects on Martin and therefore Ortiz's win since Kownacki beat Martin also.

Chisora - Inactive for 4 months. Since the beginning of 2020, he is 1-4 with a win over Pulev in July 2022 but with losses to Fury, Parker x2 and Usyk (which are all respectable losses to be honest).
Can we vote on all three? I suspect many would like to see all of them removed altogether. It would be nice to have a fresher top 15

Chisora and Pulev need to go. But the rules that were set up were they can only be removed for inactivity of 12 months or after a fight.
Changing the rules without a complete reset would take away the integrity of the work that has been done setting them up

That's definitely fair imo. Could probably make exceptions where a fighter on 10 or 11 months inactivity doesn't have anything scheduled though.

It’s usually the 12 month mark with nothing scheduled.

I'd bet Jah would stop Efe at this point.
Agree.
Sanchez probably could have stopped him too if he hadn't gone all safety first in the Cuban amateur style.

this joyce loss /Zhang win may put me on the sideline. It's like I have to rethink everything that has happened over the last two years! :maybe:

Hrg was lucky to get on the top 15 imo.

Many of us didn’t have him win, but it’s in the W column. Based on the fact, I think he got voted in.

Not like he’s top 10.

Zhang deserves top 10 now. He forced the stoppage with the eye damage. No he might not have floored Joyce, but he inflicted it.

Since their fight, Zhang has beaten Joyce.. what has Hrg done? Sat on a mandatory.

You can make ur decision..

we’re gonna be voting on some inactive heavies soon as well.

It’s a shame. A win here, I would have had Joyce over Wilder and possibly AJ.

i thought zhang beat hrg and of course here joyce.........he will go pretty high for me, even if i dont expect him to be a serious player for too long

despite the loss, i cant put joyce behind someone like parker, who he battered 2 fights ago. joyce will still be top 10 for me, his resume over the last few years is very good in comparison to most guys ranked

id like to kick kooby out and keep jah, but kooby aint up for vote. i dont feel bad about jah getting kicked out again so soon possibly either, since he was more of an eye test guy and it's not like his entry was years overdue or anything. he should make it back in quickly enough and climb highly, as long as he's matched right

something like zhang 6, joyce 7, parker down to 8, whyte 9 etc

I wouldn’t even mind Zhang taking Joyce’s current spot and forcing everyone down one.

Jah will enter again no doubt, as will Efe.

These are younger guys who are/should be boxing way more often going forward than the like of Pulev, Chisora and even Ortiz.

Pulev will be up for a vote in couple of months. Shame Chisora fought in December.. or he would have been up for discussion too.. but i know he’s in no rush to get back in the ring.

Joyce an Zhang need to be together, Zhang ahead.
Parker has had more tier two wins than both of them, so neither deserves to be above him. Boxrec have it Parker-Zhang-Joyce and I think that is about right

joyce just battered and ko'd parker 2 fights ago, saying he's done nothing to be ahead of parker makes 0 sense. and parker hasnt done anything in years to put him ahead of jjoyce

chisora is the best parker has beaten in at least 7 years

last 5 fights

joyce stopped dubois, takam, parker, hammer, lost to zhang

parker outpointed fa, massey, chizzy2x, knocked out by joyce. many people thought joe lost the chisora split decision fight too

the next arguable b level guy parker beat was fury, in a highly unimpressive performance, 6 years ago. ruiz was 7. rating that as more important than joyce pushing parker's sh!t in 2 fights ago is wack my man

100% agree with this. Joyce has to be above Parker or actual head to head means nothing in ratings
