Wasn't it meant to be the main support and upgraded to main event when the original main event fell apart ?
Yeah Clev vs Breahmer I think. Then Bellew stepped in but couldn't make the weight despite telling everyone the weight would be no issue. Groves Degale should have been main event all along.

It would be a lot more than that.

They never confirmed the amount.. but all reports said it was a substantial amount.

Hennessy staged the fight and Channel 5 screened it live.

It is stupid to have a fight planned a good few weeks after purse bids. Surprised there isn’t a rule about it.

In fairness to Clarke he said he’d come off the June bill to take the fight with Wardley.

Shalom did an interview yesterday which made me think they might try and swerve it. Saying things like Clarke needs to think bigger than the British title etc.

"No Boxer contesting a Championship contest shall engage in a
contest within 28 days before the date fixed for such Championship
except with the prior written permission from the Board."

There's a rule. Other boxers have boxed before a scheduled championship contest.

Hearn is so full of bile at the moment, it's unreal.

There's something about Wardley's loose limbed, unorthodox style that reminds me a bit of Pele Reid (Or maybe it's the Brazilian first name). He appears to have a bit more going for him in the chin department than Pele did, but these type of fighters tend to come apart stylistically when up against an experienced fighter with a tighter set of fundamental skills. Clarke could well end up being to Wardley what Julius Francis was to Pele.
Saying that, Wardley does have a punch and came through against Gorman, albeit a Gorman with questionable fitness. I'm undecided on this one, just can't fully read Wardley's limits/potential yet.

I can see where they’re coming from on this.

Purse bids are May 10th and yet they were/are looking for Clarke to fight a month after it.

That would probably rule out July for the fight and, if Matchroom won the purse bid, I’d get them probably wanting to wait until Clarke has fought and not sustained injury before formally announcing etc. particularly after Clarke had a nasty cut last time out where there’s always a chance of it reopening.

Don’t give a f uck what anyone says I really like this fight. It’s a bit of a poor man’s Joyce v Dubois, when that fight got ordered you could hear the ohhhs and ahhhs amongst boxing fans and everyone asked about it in interviews were all like ‘quality fight can’t fucki ng wait.’

I like the fight too, does credit to the Lonsdale belt.

Neither may not pull out but neither promoter may not want to risk their investments either.

I hope this fight happens, most likely Clarke handlers will want to him to face 10 more cab drivers.

Shalom did an another interview today. He made the comment that Clarke can fight for the British title whenever he wants and that he’s past British title level.

I’d imagine that if Boxxer lose the bids then Clarke is pulled from it.

If Clarke is "past British title level" then why is he fighting guys lower ranked than Fabio Wardley?
In fact, Fabio and Jack Massey are ranked above Clarke. And Clarke has TBA listed as his next opponent, so that's going to be another rando Pole ain't it?

Sounds like a load of bollocks to me.

Yeah. May just be a bluff by Shalom to make Eddie think he’s not bothered about the fight and won’t bid much.

It’s a real good fight. Both fighters want it. That should be enough.

Unless he has something in his contract saying he has to fight on Sky I’m sure it’ll go ahead. Big Fraze has warrior vibes about him. I can’t see him pulling out.

Thought Wardley more likely to swerve not Clarke so surprised by this. Fair play to Fabio. Maybe Big Fraze's team not as brave as he is, his matchmaking doesn't exactly scream confidence in him

He is NOT past British level.

He’s probably area level.

Pro is not the Ams.

And he stayed in the Ams a wee bit long to take a protracted swing at a pro career. British should be his next fight and if he beats Fabio he is suddenly ranked and in the domestic public's eye. A win against Fabio would place him top #30 in the boxrec rankings.

It’s like when Benn sayings he’s past British level. But he never he fought anyone.

He was fighting has-been fringe past their best Americans.

It's a bit absurd/embarrassing for Shalom to be continually saying 'Frazer is past British level' and then hesitating to put your Olympic medallist prospect in with someone who had minimal amateur experience once the Board order it.

Makes me wonder what they are worried about?
Clarke has been matched pretty low so far for an olympic medalist supposedly in his prime.
I mean, Fabio grasped a win from the clutches of defeat against what I would call an out of shape Gorman.

There’s an ifl clip of Clarke at tonight’s Cardiff card and him and Eddie chat but before they bought Eddie in Clarke was talking similar to David Adeleye in talking a lot about the tv channel that it’s on.

Wardley’s made it clear in his interview that if Matchroom don’t win the bid then he is happy to fight away from DAZN and he thinks Eddie would let him.
