i generally enjoy the most boring ones.
Re: At this point, who is the most exciting fighter in boxing today ?
I'd least want to meet Beterbiev.
Seems to be the most accomplished all around right now.

I enjoy most if there 50-50 fights , you see different skill levels , but to be entertaining the combatants have to be similar skill level and both coming to win , you get this you get a good fight .
Basicly If you get two guys who are similar in skill ,, does'nt matter if they can fight , has long has they both think they can , and both come to fight , you will usually end up with an entertaining fight ... skill level now thats another thing

Best fight I've seen so far this year was won by Joe Cordina.
Gutsy, skillful, and entertaining.
I don't think you have to be a so called big name to be entertaining.
Before he stepped back, Ted Cheeseman was the most entertaining fighter I've seen lately, and he wasn't even European level.

Difficult to judge but off the top of my head:
- Beterbiev - Loves a war and throws to knock his opponent out in every punch.
- Zhang - Very reactionary but he seems to be a catalyst for chaotic fights when he's receiving a bit of a beating or inflicting one.
- Inoue - Quality operator with big power in the lower weightclasses which is not common.
Honorary mention is Lomachenko because I find his style mesmerising at times.
Either those guys or Okolie, Hughie and Kid Galahad.

Well, the rest of the world seems polarized to one extreme or another, so why not boxing.
I prefer the sweet science (democrat) over the dumber one punch limited skill guys. (republicans) The ones that have both are rare.

Benavidez is great but I'd go for Beterbiev because every fight is mayhem.
He's likely to get stopped himself at some point, but not yet.
There's also Inoue and Zhang too. Both explosive fighters with 'economical' defences.

I wouldn't put Inoue and Zhang in this company, maybe down the road I don't know but not right now.Thomastearns wrote: ↑28 Apr 2023, 13:45

Benavidez is staking a strong claim, Beterbiev could have spoiler fights based off his style that might make him look bad.
That said, right now Beterbiev, especially after the Yarde fight has light on him.

Beterbiev by a mile.

Yes, Wilder is good. Underestimated as an entertainer.
Re: At this point, who is the most exciting fighter in boxing today ?
No room for Benavidez.

For sheer excitement it is hard to look past Wilder. He is lightning in a bottle and you are just waiting for him to unleash it.

Spot on and unlike many vaunted bangers from the past, he has huge cajones and he carries his power late into fights, so is dangerous for 36 minutes.Redback Rasta wrote: ↑04 May 2023, 20:03 For sheer excitement it is hard to look past Wilder. Beterbiev is too methodical for me to say he's up there with Benavidez and Tank. We're talking exciting and extravagant. Beterbiev has some clean KOs, but he has the personality of a plank of wood. Kovalev was far, far more exciting than Beterbiev.
I think it's objectively (I don't care about your opinions) Benavidez and Tank. They both put on crazy shows inside and outside of the ring.

I'd put him in a tier with Kovalev. They're both semi-retired to me, which makes me not put much weight into Wilder fights anymore. I agree, though, that he would be top 10 in a list of exciting fighters. Fury is a great talker, but he can put on some awful snoozer in the ring. Joshua has no personality even though his past fights were all very exciting. He's now safety-first.Redback Rasta wrote: ↑04 May 2023, 20:03 For sheer excitement it is hard to look past Wilder. I don’t find Wilder exciting to watch - he doesn’t do much and looks awkward doing not much - then lands a KO.

Top 10 in a list of exciting fighters is credit in itself.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑06 May 2023, 23:14I'd put him in a tier with Kovalev.
