Bruce Seldon vs. Bert Cooper

Post by scorpio83 »

12 Rounds Heavyweight Bout

Either Seldon outbox and outwork Cooper behind his long jabs and combinations to take a decision or late round stoppage. What do you guys think and who do you got?

I'll take the Cooper that fought Holyfield and you can take the Seldon that fought Tyson.

If the Smokin Bert that fought Holyfield turns up, he wins by knockout.

You could say the same for Cooper. Seldon was the more skilled fighter, which isn't saying a lot.

I'll roll the dice.

Arguably the greatest spoiler in heavyweight history Bert Cooper defeats Bruce Seldon by wildly sloppy decision.

How is Bert Cooper the greatest spoiler in history? Whenever he fought someone good, he lost. Sometimes he was competitive, sometimes not, but he always lost.

Define "good".

He beat Joe Hipp, Orlin Norris, Henry Tillman, and had quite a few ultra competitive losses. He wasn't a bum.

Carl Williams, Foreman, Mercer, Bowe, Holyfield, Moorer, way past it Weaver.
Cooper lost them all. All better than the guys you mentioned. sometimes he was competitive with these guys, sometimes nor. But he always lost. If he was really a spoiler, he would have pulled off a couple of upsets.
