Re: Tyson Fury vs. TBA - July 2023
If Fury defeats Ruiz then his resume would be pretty much on par with Joshua's resume. Joshua had Klitschko, Parker, Ruiz and Usyk going 3-3 against those guys. Fury would have Klitschko, Wilder, and Ruiz going 4-0-1 against them. I'd say without question it'd surpass Joshua's qualifications. But if Joshua was able to defeat Wilder, then it'd be a competitive race again, unless the fight was so competitive it made Joshua and Wilder have a rematch further gumming up the works.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. TBA - July 2023
Really who cares , you have Joshua , who's had the balls to pit himself against the best available ,and come out second best on 3 occasions , and Fury who has consistantly refused to fight the best available , AJ wants to catch up simple he fights Wilder .. Fury wants to catch up he has to fight Ruiz , Usyk twice , and for the hell of it throw in a shop worn Parker .HomicideHenry wrote: ↑30 Apr 2023, 22:05 If Fury defeats Ruiz then his resume would be pretty much on par with Joshua's resume. Fury has to beat Ruiz and Joshua, at bare minimum to essentially be considered the best of his era. In this business, rightly or wrongly, the man who defeated the most noteworthy challengers of his time was the best of his era.
Defeating four of the five unified or alphabet champions of your time, would by proxy make you the best of the bunch. Klitschko, Wilder, Ruiz and Joshua would be the winning combination for the argument of who was the best even if Fury never fought Usyk.
Now IDEALLY.... it would be better to see Fury defeat Ruiz, Joshua and Usyk. That way there was absolutely no doubt at all. All Fury has to do is either draw or defeat Usyk. Then retire as the best of the era.

Verstappen turned around previous losses to Hamilton in rematches, but Rosberg's still the lineal champ.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. TBA - July 2023
You know i could'nt care less who Fury fights , there does'nt seem any doubt whatsoever he is number 1 or 2 in the world , but unless he fights Usyk who has 3 belts to Furys 1 , we will never know who is the true number 1 ,
So really just on the basis Fury bottled it you cannot possibly place him anywhere but number 2 and Usyk 1 , and regardless off what all his nuthuggers say its simple , Usyk beat AJ twice and Fury bottled it with Usyk .
But then an argument i will not get into is Aj has to be number 3 , but really given Fury bottling it and up till now the only other dangerman he's been in with is Wilder and its debatable about him and the fact with AJ Fury put unrealistic deadlines Fury haters could have a good point that Fury should be behind AJ .
Too be honest i could'nt care less who Fury fights unless its AJ for number two spot or Usyk for number 1 , guys a joke , how the fook he's got so rich and got so many fans when he's been a bottle job his whole carreer is beyond me .
I would agree that AJ has never been what he was made out to be , from the olympics where he was lucky and recieved a lot of homegrown cooking right up to his losses with Usyk and Ruiz for that matter he may well have been over hyped and never really has good has made out ,, BUT at least he did put his balls on the line , he did fight Ruiz , its well docuented he did want to Ffight Wilder he did want to fight Fury and he did fight the undisputed number 1 twice
Fury Fook him far has i;m concrened until he fights AJ or Usyk , he don't exist

Re: Tyson Fury vs. TBA - July 2023
I would never have regarded myself as a Fury fan; his style for me has never been fan friendly. He is an ugly boxer with an even uglier style.
That said, during his comeback I was very much enjoying his story and wishing him success.
However it became apparent he got drowned by his own success - the narrative that initially endeared me to him gradually became an obvious lie .. it's blatantly clear now the guy is a fake desperate for media attention.
Similar with AJ. I have never been a fan. From the beginning it was clear we had a contemporary Bruno clone. The guy was again very fake .. and increasingly racist as his confidence and ego grew.
The facts as I see them are - Fury is the naturally better boxer, but too cautious of defeat to commit himself unless there is no other option. Fury was going nowhere fast before Wlad & Wilder 1 hence taking them .. he has not taken such risks since.
The other fact is Fury is a wholly unlikeable person - a natural loud mouthed bully, which probably impacts on his reluctance to face risks.
AJ has done everything asked of him and faced the best opponents available in his weak division. He is not scared of risks. At this moment it doesn't look as if he is 100% in love with boxing but realises he is still one of the top guys able to cash in without too much effort.
Ultimately neither guy proved good for boxing. Fury became an obnoxious foul mouthed bully scared to face his best challenges, and AJ became a pound shop racist black activist.
History will not be kind on either Fury or AJ .. with good reasons too.

Only valid argument you or any AJ fan could have is who is number 2 , and based on opponents willing to risk it , get beat and avenge losses , most will sway to AJ , prsonaly i think Fury would beat AJ but i certainly would'nt put to much money on it in fact i'd be more inclined to put money on Fury ducking AJ than fighting him ,, and once the real hard core Fury fans take off the rose colored glasses i'm sure most are actually disapointed in him

I just disagree on loads of those points. As said before, it's pretty obvious who the three standout heavyweights were for a period of time, two boxed each other three times. The other wouldn't. I think it says it all about Fury fans when they dismiss AJ beating Wlad a lot more impressively than what Fury did, by pointing out it was 2 years after Fury had beaten him.
Yet the Fury fans get excited about Fury possibly fighting fat Andy Ruiz 3 years after AJ beat him ..

Just to say that for years on these boards there was justified outrage that Whyte was being ducked by Wilder. Whyte was an uncrowned champ according to most. He earned his shot the hard way. Now Fury's victory gets skated over.
I'm a fan of Fury and Joshua (and Wilder and Usyk). I'm disappointed they didn't fight. I don't remember 30 page threads about Mayweather's reluctance to take on the best. Or the Roy Jones years of drivel.
As a caveat, I don't go on social media. Don't know why anyone over the age of 18 would. I have no idea what nonsense plays out there.

If you were to follow BoxRec throughout that whole Fury-Whyte thing you would have thought it was a 50/50 fight or that Fury would get his comeuppance. In reality it was a one sided blowout where Whyte was never in the contest. And this was the #1 contender for the WBC title for basically three years.Ezzard wrote: ↑02 May 2023, 04:21 Just to say that for years on these boards there was justified outrage that Whyte was being ducked by Wilder. As a caveat, I don't go on social media. Don't know why anyone over the age of 18 would. I have no idea what nonsense plays out there.
The Fury hate is pretty delusional. Don't get me wrong I'm pretty damn upset that he did not take the fight with Usyk for the 29th of April, but I don't believe for one minute that Fury will never fight him. It will happen at some point. There are people out there who are genuinely of the belief that Tyson Fury is afraid of Usyk or afraid of losing, and that's simply not the case.
After all most people, even Tyson's haters, felt that he would be the favorite against the Ukrainian anyway. And I think that's why it is so infuriating because even though it would be a highly competitive fight even the haters prior to the collapse of undispited thought Fury would win.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. TBA - July 2023
There is at least 6 blokes in my local pub who would easily beat Fury...
