that was in the middle of my best KO streak where i went to 7 parties in a row and hooked up with 7 different girls each night. i certainly brought my A game during that stretch!

You are sure none of them were your sister or other family members? Alcohol can be a great ally or a devious enemy when it comes to women.BrocktonBlockbuster49 wrote:evndrbsn wrote:Also, this one has been keeping me up late: is that your girlfriend or your sister that you have your hands all over?BrocktonBlockbuster49 wrote:

And what you doing beating women during your KO streak? How barbaric.

Re: Jerry Quarry
I liked Jerry Quarry as a fighter, but Joe Frazier was better.
To sure, Quarry had more skills than Frazier, but the latter
was bigger, had much more stamina, and could punch with
more power.

Re: Jerry Quarry Vastly Underated
Part of this thread was devoted to Quarry vs Norton....I see I had my say 10 years ago.
After continuing to mull it over for the last decade.....I think the Jerry Quarry who beat Patterson, Spencer,Lyle and Shavers, Beats the best Kenny Norton you can find. Which is probably the Norton that beat Ali in their first fight. Or the Norton that hung in their with Holmes.

Pop in Quarry-Patterson (either one).
Watch Norton-Holmes right after.
It's no contest.
Norton is at least a league ahead of Quarry.

Re: Jerry Quarry Vastly Underated
While Jerry was a very good fighter I certainly wouldn't call him underrated. He's often been referred to by other peers of his as the best Heavyweight to have never won a Heavyweight Championship. Comments like that are probably overrating him.
Quarry is still being talked about regularly by Boxing fans decades after his peak. He gets plenty of attention for what he's accomplished and for the most part is remembered fondly.

Re: Jerry Quarry Vastly Underated
I liked Quarry a lot, but if anything he was a bit overrated by some, probably including me at times.
Re: Jerry Quarry Vastly Underated
He was also defeated by Eddie Machen. Not sure if he was top 10 at the time. Was Mac Foster really rated #1 by Ring?ronnyrains wrote:Jerry Quarry beat 8 World Ranked Heavyweights (Ring Magazine)

Yep, Foster was rated #1 by Ring for two months following previous #1 Leotis Martin's retirement.
Machen had fallen out of the rankings after losses to Mildenberger and Ramos.

One thing you have to say is that he went out of way to take on quality competition.
