Ezzard wrote: 02 May 2023, 04:21 Just to say that for years on these boards there was justified outrage that Whyte was being ducked by Wilder. Whyte was an uncrowned champ according to most. He earned his shot the hard way. Now Fury's victory gets skated over.

I'm a fan of Fury and Joshua (and Wilder and Usyk). I'm disappointed they didn't fight. I don't remember 30 page threads about Mayweather's reluctance to take on the best. Or the Roy Jones years of drivel.

As a caveat, I don't go on social media. Don't know why anyone over the age of 18 would. I have no idea what nonsense plays out there.
If you were to follow BoxRec throughout that whole Fury-Whyte thing you would have thought it was a 50/50 fight or that Fury would get his comeuppance. In reality it was a one sided blowout where Whyte was never in the contest. And this was the #1 contender for the WBC title for basically three years.

The Fury hate is pretty delusional. Don't get me wrong I'm pretty damn upset that he did not take the fight with Usyk for the 29th of April, but I don't believe for one minute that Fury will never fight him. It will happen at some point. There are people out there who are genuinely of the belief that Tyson Fury is afraid of Usyk or afraid of losing, and that's simply not the case.

After all most people, even Tyson's haters, felt that he would be the favorite against the Ukrainian anyway. And I think that's why it is so infuriating because even though it would be a highly competitive fight even the haters prior to the collapse of undispited thought Fury would win.

yes, people here had fury-whyte as a 50-50 fight, which is why neither of these polls gave whyte more than 13 percent

What was the Wilder 1 poll result considering according to most he couldn’t beat the average man in the street?

You've been pulled up more than a few times for making false statements up.

Getting the impression you scraping the barrel for even slightly plausible excuses for Fury now :OhYes:

Is it not reasonably likely Fury won’t bother his arse fighting in July, and will want instead to be paid a fortune to fight a soft body in Saudi in December? I’d say that scenario would be fairly appealing to Fury.

Aside from COCO's clever & hilarious little additions to the thread which are nothing like troll posts ... where are these multiple posts from people here that suggest Fury couldn’t beat the average man in the street?

I meant Wilder, yet i seem to remember most of the experts on here predicted him to knock out Fury. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Another thing, Tone, you keep pulling me up because I am often not speaking literally, yet you keep speaking about who has ducked who and saying it as fact. Unless you were there in the negotiations then how on earth can you say that? Your poetic license is worse than mine, out of control, even. FACT.

Mickey , you do say quite a bit when it suits ,,,,,,, Was you there , did you witness negotiations to imply there were reasons Fury bottled it that we don't know , but you never seem to apply the same logic to the other guys he bottled it against , choosing to believe it was them not Fury ,

Your actually probably one of if not the most knoladgable poster on here regards the British scene , ameteurs and pro's , its obvious you know quite a few boxers , travel to shows , both ameteur and pro , and firmly have your ear to the ground , I just find it incredible has to why you cannot see past Furys bollocks and bullshit , Its not a matter of being a hater just seeing the truth for what it is ,

Fury played it all out over social media Mick :TU:

*here's where I'm assuming/guessing: I'd say that's why his team stopped him accessing it as fall out over the proposed Usyk fight went pear shaped for Fury.

Yep agreed. Zhang is a worthy opponent, and nobody can have reason to criticise Fury IF he fights him in July.

Zhang looked at times bigger and stronger than Joyce which suggests Fury won`t be able to bully him with his blubber as he does with most recent opponents. Zhang is quite low output for the most, but it would be surprising to see this version of Fury able to match the output that Hrgovic did whilst beating Zhang, so it could well be a tough distance fight for Fury ... IF he fights him in July.

dont mind zhang or ruiz for a summer fight vs fury and probably slightly lean towards ZZ as he just beat JJ and looked pretty good whereas ruiz hasnt fought in a while and given his marriage split probably isnt as focused anyway and could just turn up for the payday out of condition .
