Can't begrudge Ryder another title shot, deserved the win against Smith but this has a feeling of inevitably about it, Ryder as good now as he'll ever be but Canelo will hurt him, don't think he'll last 12,

I noticed a few posters have chosen the Ryder on points option.

Did you not get the memo? It is Canelo Alvarez and he is fighting in Mexico. :OhYes:

Ryder would have to knock Canelo out twice to get the decision…

I haven't paid any attention to this fight as it's such a mismatch. But i seen it was in Mexico so it should be on at a reasonable time and the bolotniks fight might be interesting. So i had a quick glance and could somebody tell me how the fuk boxrec has ryder in the top 10 of any division never mind number 3? :bag:

Yep, he is a bit high up. But he has been active, and on a late career roll.
With Plant on two recent losses, Andrade fighting no one of real note seemingly happy to time out the tail end of his career, there really is a talent vacuum. It ain't hard to fill a top space.

I'd struggle to name 10 super middleweights who should be rated above Ryder tbh. In fact, I'd only put Canelo, Benavidez and Plant above him right now. Andrade has done fornicate all at the weight and Morrell has looked the part but still needs better opposition.

Yes, it's a fairly weak division at the moment, but this fight has been earned by Ryder - should have got the decision against Smith, and gone on to beat Jacobs and Parker. He's hardly Avni Yildirim mark II.

well mexico is right next to the states, it's not much different than big usa fights. only one hour difference between vegas and jalisco.

jalisco is 7 hours behind us, eg its 1:35 am there now and 835 am here now

main event should be around 3am here i'd think

Both look in great nick, especially Ryder

Cant see how he`s got a hope here though. He isnt a big puncher and Canelo`s chin is solid. No way he gets a decision over there.

Towel comes in for Ryder around 8 rounds or a body shot stops him

Fast car has done pretty well in pretty much getting his whole stable, between welter and light heavy, million plus purses to fight Canelo on DAZN

This will be the 6 or 7th Brit that Canelo will fight.

What do you reckon Ryder is getting paid for this?

USD 1.5 mill? Hope he gets a wedge

Ryder looks really up for it. No doubt he's a very tough man. Canelo has ridiculous power though. I see him catching Ryder who will try fighting on. Maybe he will get stopped standing after going down a few times. I can't see Canelo needing to go looking for his as I think Ryder throws caution to the wind and tries meeting him head on.

Been any talk of elevation here? It’s 1500-1600 meters high, defiantly at a point where it starts to make a difference, not stupid like Mexico City (2200), but still they will feel it.
