I agree with you Terry.
Thats why I was surprised to hear that the Ufc is putting Shamrock in with Ortiz for the third time in October.

Yeah thats a dubious match alright - the air of early stopage in their recent match is the driving factor behind this one.expug wrote:I agree with you Terry.

As I understand it Ortiz v Shamrock 3 will be free to air on the Spike TV network. UFC are looking to capitalise on the success of the Ultimate Fighter 3 series and continue this 'fued'. It would be a terrible PPV headliner but free on cable I suppose its acceptable.
Look at this situation involving next months headliner. Matt Hughes was due to rematch the much improved and dangerous George St Pierre. The Canuck pulled out with a groin injury... Who replaces him? The only man to defeat Hughes since he won the UFC crown - BJ Penn.
What an excellent substitute, and a mouth watering match.
Thats why I have so much time for UFC, they deliver a good standard of match up - fighters pad ther records on smaller shows - when they step into the octagon they know they are in for a tough fight.

Been recently watching a bit of K1 Max, the 70kg division of K1 and in terms of talent, technique, pace of fight and excitement it beats the big men in my eyes.
Fighters such as Baukaw, Masato, Souwer, Parr, Klause and the rest make for exciting matches.
I think I need to find a kickboxing/MMA forum - I seem to enjoy talking about those sporst more then boxing these days!
Anyone know a decent forum other then the mma.tv underground or the sherdog one??
If you have never seen it, check out the following National Geographic documentary 'Kickfighters':

Doghouse has a good MMA forum and its less busy than the MMA Weekly and Sherdog ones and far better quality.TerribleTerry wrote:Been recently watching a bit of K1 Max, the 70kg division of K1 and in terms of talent, technique, pace of fight and excitement it beats the big men in my eyes.
