Eddie Hearn has issued a foul mouthed response to reports of relatively low pay per view numbers for Canelo Alvarez’ win over John Ryder earlier this month.
Numbers of 150,000 – 200,000 spread on twitter in the wake of the fight, which was Canelo’s first in Mexico in well over a decade.
When these figures were put to Hearn by Boxing Social, he labelled them “bull****” and referenced that there were customers across the world able to purchase the event on other platforms, not just DAZN.
“Absolute b****cks! More like double that. These are the times when I wish DAZN would just come out and say the numbers, because those numbers are bull****.
The fight was on DAZN, but also on various other pay per view platforms as well. Direct TV and many other platforms.
So miles out on the numbers.”
